HE’S A RENEGADE AND A TRAITOR. HE MAY ALSO BE AMERICA’S LAST HOPE FOR SURVIVAL...

A hijacked Israeli submarine. An unprovoked attack against a U.S. Navy destroyer. A civilian oil tanker with a secret cargo of nuclear weapons. Together, they add up to an ingenious plan to penetrate the ballistic missile defenses of the United States.

Standing in the path of destruction is a crew of mercenary submarine sailors, led by ex-U.S. naval officer, Jake Slate. Exiled for crimes that should have earned him a military execution, Slate is not anyone’s idea of a hero.

But he’s all we’ve got…

Meet the Author

After John Monteith graduated from the Naval Academy in 1991, his career in the U.S. Navy included service aboard a nuclear ballistic missile submarine and a tour as a top-rated instructor of combat tactics at the U.S. Naval Submarine School. Since his transition to civilian life, he has continued to pursue his interest in cutting-edge technology. He currently lives in the Detroit area, where he works in engineering management when he's not busy cranking out high-tech naval action thrillers.

John Monteith writes the award winning 'Rogue Submarine' series, which pairs an arms-dealing Frenchman named Pierre Renard with a renegade American ex-naval officer, Jake Slate. The series includes ROGUE AVENGER (2005), ROGUE BETRAYER (2007), and ROGUE CRUSADER (2010). The fourth book, ROGUE DEFENDER (working title), is expected in mid-2013.

He also writes short stories about cybernetic control of predatory animals used in military applications. The Rogue Visions series includes ANGEL VISIONS, BEAST VISIONS, and CRASH VISIONS, and they have a curious character crossover with Jake Slate's brothers from the Rogue Submarine series.

John Monteith brings Jake Slate and his mercenary crew back for

John Monteith brings Jake Slate and his mercenary crew back for another hair raising adventure in this, the third in the Rogue submarine series (Rogue Avenger, Rogue Betrayer), and he hasn't lost any momentum from the first two.

This time, an Israeli sub has been stolen by Arab terrorists, and they plan on using it in an intricate plot to bring America to its knees. The CIA is on to it, but can't risk using regular American forces, so Jake and his rogue band of submarine mercenaries are given a diesel boat and called in to save the country.

Monteith calls upon his years of experience as a submariner to make the story authentic, and couples this with solid character development to make the story one that envelopes the reader and holds interest from the first page to the last.

Fast, well-moving read with plenty of action and characters the reader will care about, Rogue Crusader is another great action story from this talented writer. Techno-thriller junkies as well as fans of submarine and naval warfare will enjoy this book.
