Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Denise Hartzler
From the creators of Kipper come three new friends. Rollo and Little Fluffy Bird are two friends who have ordinary days, until Tuesday. Rollo notices strange things have been happening. First he finds his mat has been chewed on and his red ball is missing. They start following the clues, small footprints and little red bits. Soon Little Fluffy Bird realizes that something is sleeping in her nest—Ruff, a rat. When Little Fluffy Bird and Rollo try to become friends with Ruff, he becomes frightened and runs away. Rollo and Little Fluffy Bird use sweets from the corner shop to lure Ruff from his hiding spot. They soon forge a friendship and help Ruff make a new home. Mick Inkpen uses drew illustrations that are clean and crisp that will delight and engage listeners and readers. The only problem with the text is Inkpen's decision to use the acronym LFB instead of Little Fluffy Bird throughout the story. I fear that some readers will find this distracting when read out loud.
From the Publisher
"The charmingly comical Inkpen, as always, hits the spot."  —Guardian
