Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
Bahouth, an American needlepoint designer and tapestry weaver who now makes her home in England, offers her second compilation of needlepoint designs, after Flowers, Birds, and Unicorns: Medieval Needlepoint (Abrams, 1993). This celebration of love and romanticism takes its inspiration from world art treasures ranging from ancient Egyptian tomb paintings to the work of Andy Warhol. Bahouth is first an artist and then an embroiderer, so her work is more about color and design than technique. All 20 projects are worked in tent stitch, and for each there are complete materials lists, full-color charts, photos of the finished project and of the work of art that inspired it, and an essay describing the creation of the design and its background. Recommended for needlepoint collections.
