Overview

Good girls just can't win! High school principal Judy Anne Palmer was always a good girl who never did an impulsive, rebellious thing. Ever. And look where it got her!

One night in Dallas, she meets a man and decides to indulge in a liberating night of passion--liberating her from the stigma of being the oldest living virgin north of the Rio Grande. After all, she'll never see her one-night Romeo again.

Unfortunately, the night doesn't turn out exactly the way she planned, and her one-night Romeo isn't exactly one-night stand material.

When he turns up in her hometown as a new teacher on her faculty, Judy Anne knows that she's in big trouble. Can she resist the desire that burns between her and Romeo? Can a night of illicit love be enough?

With eccentric small town characters, a bratty niece, an overbearing school board president, and the temptation of a secret lover, Judy Anne has all she can do to keep her passion from turning into the biggest scandal little Clayton Bend, Texas, has ever seen.

PRAISE for ROMEO AND JUDY ANNE, Book 2 of Texas One Night Stands
"There are so many things I love about the way Reeves writes -- her characters are well developed, the situations they're put in are compelling and the dialogue is frequently humorous. But it's the underlying emotion that continues to draw me further into every story. I really loved the way we're given a peek into Judy Anne's family life. The multi-generational aspect of the story brought a very realistic dimension to this romance, and I appreciated the challenges Judy Anne had in this arena of her life. Of course, it would be hard to resist the sexy, music-loving, full-of-surprises Roman/Romeo for long, wouldn't it? Watching the two of them discover, define and work out their relationship was delightful from start to finish." ~ from Reader Review: A Delightful, Touching Romance, 09/11/2011

Meet the Author

Hello! I'm Joan Reeves. I write funny, sexy, romances because I think the world needs more love and laughter. And passion! And committed relationships!

REASONS TO BUY A BOOK BY JOAN REEVES

1. Joan Reeves is an overnight success, and it only took her 25 years!

2. Joan Reeves writes stories that are like a little vacation between the covers of a book.

3. Joan Reeves has a daughter getting married next spring. She can use the bucks. Seriously, do you know how much weddings cost?

4. Joan Reeves believes in the Weed Whacker Theory of Success. "Life is a big field of weeds. In the center of this giant patch of weeds is something we want--something called success. We're all on paths that resemble the spokes of a wheel, trying to get to the hub. Some of us have machetes, some have riding lawn mowers. Me? I'm armed with a rusty pocket knife." I need all the help I can get. Quick, buy my book!

5. Joan Reeves is basically lazy. If you don't buy her books, she'll stop writing and while away the hours reading her competitors' books, watching What Not To Wear (she could be a poster girl), cheesy sci fi movies, Buffy reruns, and The Closer--just to name a few of her TV addictions. Then she'll gain 50 pounds from eating Ding Dongs (required snack of The Closer), mope around the house complaining that she's fat, spend all her book sale money on a new wardrobe, refuse to wear the new clothes because they're ugly, join a nudist colony, and get expelled because she'll do nothing but gripe and moan all day and who wants to see a naked fat woman complaining about how she could have been a contender?

6. Joan Reeves needs a new pair of shoes. Some of those really cute round-toe Mary Jane's at DSW and maybe a pair of gold evening shoes because they're so darn sexy. But, she can't support her shoe addiction without book sales. Shoes: more addictive than crack yet costs the same--but they're legal!

And, the best reason of all!

7. Joan Reeves writes stories that make you feel good and leave you with a smile.

My motto? It's never too late to live happily ever after!

Happy Reading and Best Wishes,
Joan Reeves

    Sexy and Emotional

Having read Joan Reeves's The Trouble With Love, the first book in her Texas One Night Stands series, I was very much looking forward to her second story in the series, Romeo and Judy Anne. For the title alone I would have picked up this book. I love it! And, fortunately, a great title delivers a great story. Judy Anne is a 29-year-old virgin. But that's not the point of the story. Rather it is indicative of her life in general, a life she feels--through too much responsibility--has passed her by. She decides a one-night-stand will remedy at least one aspect of her mundane existence. And perhaps it would have been as simple as that if Judy Anne's "Mr. Right" had not been the other half of that one nighter. Roman Carlisle is a wonderful hero, sophisticated, handsome, and charming. But what really engages the reader--aside from Roman's uber sexiness, ahem--is the warmth he exudes and his heartfelt pursuit of woman he wants but hasn't quite decided what that means. I can't recommend this story enough. The characterization is deep and the end as satisfying as the reader could hope for. I am now anxiously awaiting book 3, Forever Starts Tonight, of this very addictive series.

    Highly Entertaining!

This is my first Joan Reeves book. I was utterly engrossed with her writing style. She is witty and funny, and I was left feeling the money I spent on this book was well spent. In fact,I just purchased my second book by this author. Thanks for the laughs and making my heart flutter here and there, Joan!
