Rookie Dad is the story ...
Rookie Dad is the story of a young husband and father learning how to pay attention to his family’s changing size and shape. It’s a story filled with hard questions, with laughter and tears, and with the unexpected joy of first-time fatherhood. It’s my story – the story of how I became a dad.

Loved it! Read it when we were pregnant with our first son. I found myself laughing at times, but identifying & relating to the book as well. What a wonderful read. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

I found this book to be a wonderful mix of funny and touching stories. I think that both seasoned parents and those who have not even considered having a child (such as myself) will enjoy this book. Simple anecdotes that illustrate the bare truths about first time parenting are made accessible to all through charming stories anyone can relate to. Jacobsen has a knack for lively writing which flows so well that one might forget one is reading and feel that he is beside you telling his story. Was this review helpful? I absolutely loved this book. At the end of each chapter I felt pulled between diving into the next chapter and stopping to savor the poignant wisdom. Reading the book caused me to reflect on my own experiences as a father, and to find the humor and beauty in the mundane moments of parenthood. I now feel new energy to continue the sacred journey of parenting. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
