    Don't ever COMPROMISE YA SELF

Can you pay my bills? Can you pay my telephone bills? Do you pay my automo' bills? Once upon a time in Toledo, Ohio lived Klarke Taylor. A 34 year old, mother of 2, divorcée, working as an executive accounts representative. Klarke came crashing down hard from being nova, to now just trying to cope. Hubby #1 was everything every girl desires! 13 years, ONLY 2 discover SUPERWOMEN were now obsolete! EGOS now want to be needed! Hubby #2 was around long enough to see that ONLY fools rush in! AMAZINGLY, it was too late! What happened to my fairy tale of a life? Before budgeting, creditors harassment, and repo's! Whose world is this? Perhaps the game needs a fresh new ruler! I want Prince Charming/Knight in shining armor with MONEY who could put this Beauty back in the fantasy world of happiness... In that same time two hours away in Columbus, Ohio lived Reo Larouqe. A 33 year old, single, financially stable, best-selling author. Desperate to do what his heart desired, Reo gambled on self publishing. Returning the keys to the life he'd become comfortable with in hopes of finally getting what his heart's desired! But could his Goldilocks await her Prince rise? Would there soon be tumbling down? Why are sisters so greedy? What kind of car you drive? Is that a Rolex? Cha-ching! Could this be? Unsolicited knocks at his heart. Fairy-fairy Princess is that you? In search for love, love, love... The root of all evil reveals deceit, and well kept secrets that ostensibly mold the lives of all of the characters. You take one step forward, and then two steps back to hide those dirty little secrets. What's your denomination, MON-EY? I can't believe I've had this book for so long! I didn't know that Joy was doing it like this! I can't wait to see what comes about!

    very very good book

The book was so good. I wonder if it the author is going to bring out a pt 2 to this book. The book was so good and some parts had me in tears that is how sad some parts was. But other than that 5 stars this book deserves it is the outstanding.

    Fast-paced street lit

Although I would recommend this book to those who are interested in a combination of street lit and chick lit, I did have a few problems with the book. While the Columbus, Ohio native and Capital University graduate knows how to craft a good plot, she seems to cross the thin line between sexy and vulgar, which may turn some readers off. Another problem I had with this book is the authenticity of the dialogue, especially when slang is mixed with proper English, all in one sentence. This combination makes for an awkward read. Yet even with these minor problems, I would still give this books a thumbs up because both the main characters and the peripheral ones are just like everyday people who deal with real-life situations, the plot is fast-paced and interesting, and the story is quite original. ¿The Root of All Evil¿ makes an entertaining read that many people will be able to relate.

The author was excellent with this book. The details and the drama just kept you wanting more. At the end , it was sad about the death of the baby. Twists and turns were all in this book.

    more from this reviewer

    engaging contemporary tale

In her thirties in Toledo, Ohio, Klarke Taylor has not recovered from her former husband Harris leaving her for his cousin Tionne three years ago. He left her to raise their two preadolescent children almost alone. Depressed, financially, she is in worse shape as Harris had kept them in a comfortable lifestyle for the thirteen years they were married. Her parents are dead so she cannot turn to them, her bills are piling up as she is behind with all of them and the collectors harass her at home and at her job at Kemble and Steiner Printing.----- Desperate, Klarke and her friends Breezy and Jeva devise a scheme to trap a wealthy male. Through her printing firm¿s publishing customers, the trio targets bestselling author Reo Laroque, a bachelor with women desiring him, but seeks a virtuous woman although has one female Meka in his life. He enjoys exchanging email with KAT (Klarke) and thinks she is the one when they meet. The plan succeeds except that at every turn the trio gets deeper down a path that started unethical, but turned deadly.----- This engaging contemporary tale focuses on lust and love battling for supremacy against gold fever as the desperate threesome pulls a swindle to obtain money from a nice mark. The story line is character driven as readers see the hopelessness that pushes Klarke from her normally principled behavior into an anxious con artist and its impact on her two young children. The support cast plays major roles as Joylynn M. Jossel makes the case that the ROOF OF ALL EVIL is not money, but people¿s reckless deeds to obtain loot at high personal costs.----- Harriet Klausner

NEED TO SEE MORE OF YOU

THIS BOOK WAS A QUICK READ. I NEVER HEARD OF THE AUTHOR BEFORE. THE BOOK COVER CAUGHT MY EYE AND I AM GLAD I MADE THE PURCHASED. THIS STORY IS A GOOD LESSON OF DECEPTION AND GOLD DIGGERS. IT DOESN'T PAY. STAY TRUE TO YOURSELF AND NEVER DEPEND ON ANYONE BUT YOURSELF. WOULD LOVE TO READ MORE OF HER BOOKS.
