Rot Rules!

This book is awesome. Gary Brandner, famous for his Howling books, unleashes zombie madness in this wickedly evil little tale.

    Malta

Well this is not the best nookfiction I have ever read, but it has potwntial and was well written. Most people need to work on grammar and syntax where your problem lies in characterization and plotline. A few things need to be changed and it needs to be more suspenseful. Show more about the character and his/her story. Otherwise it was good and should be continued. I do think though that it was harsh of people to hate on your story. I have heard better reviews from worse stories. Keep going!! ~Malta

    Ugh.

"Shocked and awed readers"? Get real. And "Another eventful day"? I thought the evacuation had been issued LAST NIGHT.

    ROT: Prologue

The fallout sirens began ringing out again. This is the third time this week. Another drill, I figured, and rolled over and checked the clock. It was 7:15 in the morning, Friday, April 14, 2017.
I got up and walked to my closet. I pulled on some jeans and a plain T-shirt. I cranked up the sound system in my room and listened to some Avenged Sevenfold to drown out the sound of the sirens.
I went downstairs and threw my breakfast together. I sat in the living room and turned on the TV all the stations were scrambled. I stared at the blank screen and turned the TV off. I walked to my room and switched my sound system to radio. Again, all the stations were scrambled. I began to reach for the power button to turn it off when I heard a monotone voice come through the speakers.
"Residents of Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina are prompted to evacuate the state immediately by order of the CDC. All residents still inside state boundaries at midnight, Thursday, April 13, 2017 will quarantined inside state boundaries. This is not a drill."
That came in last night! What the he<_>ll could have happened that would have caused a mass evacuation?
I threw on my tennis shoes and rushed outside. I saw nothing but a barren, ransacked neighborhood. I began walking down the street and noticed a woman in a business suit shambling away from me. I called out to her and she turned, displaying a pale, constricted face with a deep bitemark on her throat that had left streaks of blood on her suit. She gave a bloodthirsty growl and ran after me drunkily.
I nearly tripped over myself, running back to my house. I slammed the door and heard her run into it, making it rattle on the hinges. I watched through the peephole, shocked and awed.
I had a genious idea. I grabbed the firepoker from beside my fireplace that I never used and walked back to the door, I tapped on the peephole, drawing her, or its, attention. She snapped her teeth at the peephole and I shoved the firepoker through the peephole and through the thing's skull with suprising ease. I swng the planted my foot against the door and pulled the bloody firepoker back inside and heard the body slump against the door outside and slide down.
"Well, looks like another eventful day." I told myself and smirked.

    Pfft.

More character development. A backstory. Show it through flashbacks or dreams or something like that. Who is this guy? Did he have family? Where are they? I know this is just the prologue though.
