Rough Guide to Salsa Gold

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Chris Nickson
The 1970s were the golden age for salsa, the New York-based style that brought together Latin music and made it cool. This compilation harks back to that time, with big names like Machito and Fruko whose "Fruko a Lo Compadre" smokes. It captures a time when salsa was still fresh, the bands often wildly inventive and willing to try new things.
