Torn between the love he has…and the love he’s always wanted.
Rough Riders Series, Book 5
Chassie West Glanzer hasn’t been a stranger to drama and tragedy. A year of wedded bliss to sexy-as-sin cowboy Trevor Glanzer has brought her the happiness and contentment she never thought she’d find, and mellowed Trevor’s rodeo wanderlust. Then Trevor’s old roping partner ambles up the driveway—and Chassie’s life changes drastically.
Trevor never expected to see Edgard Mancuso again, after it became clear he couldn’t be the man Edgard needed. Now Edgard is back from Brazil to sort out their tangled past, and Trevor is plagued with feelings he thought he’d buried over three years ago. Although Trevor is hat-over-bootheels in love with his sweet, feisty wife, the sense his life is missing a piece has always gnawed at him.
Chassie’s shock that Edgard and Trevor were once lovers turns to fear of losing her husband. Or worse, fear that Trevor will stay with her only out of a sense of duty. Yet as the three of them spend time together, the sins of the past blur and fade, leaving raw emotion—and unbridled passion.
Passion that could heal…or cause irreparable damage to their future.
It absolutely broke my heart that Trevor and Edgard didn't get their happliy ever after in the first book, but this was a great way to bring them together. Chassie needed Trevor, and Trevor needed her, But Edgard need them both. I hated the way they had to be torn apart in the first book, and Trevor ended up getting drunk for six months after Edgard left, but when he walked up the driveway looking for Trevor and Trevor comes out and swings him up in his arms that was great. Chassie is a strong woman, and accepts Edgard into their lives, and into their bed, and it ended up being one of my very favorite stories. This series should continue on for a long time, the characters are a plenty, and there is lots of territory to cover, so keep'em comin' Lorelie James.

I really loved the story of Trevor, who truly loves his wife, but also has to learn what his true feelings are for his former lover, Edgard. He also has to decide his regarding his family. I thoroughly enjoyed. The sex scenes were extremely hot. If you do not like to read about homosexual sex, then this book is not for you.

So I was a bit put off by the man on man action that was a given in this book (I am not a homophobe but I wouldnt generally read a gay erotica novel either). But there really is just so much going on in this book, the storyline is really good. The sexual stuff in these books (I think anyways) really just blends so well with the story.

The explicit descriptions of the m/m action were a bit too much for my liking but this was a touching poignant love story nonetheless.

This was a fantastic book...one of my all time favorite reads! The relationship between the characters was extremely loving but also extremely sexy. I love how the characters were able to "have it all" and be unconventional. I will definitely always remember this book.

I love the way Edgard came back into the picture after leaving in previous book. I love the way Chassie can open her heart and become involved and care as much for Edgard as she does Trevor. Trevor, Chassie, and Edgard finally come together with their hearts and minds. Alot of people wouldn't be able to do this. I was worried at first when Edgard showed up at Trevor and Chassie's, but it works out and Edgard and Chassie end up falling in love as much as Chassie and Trevor, or Trevor and Edgard love one another. So no one gets cheated or left out. The way Lorelei brought them together shows how talented she is.

WHILE THIS SERIES IS INTERESTING AND FUN, IT IS FOR MATURE ADULTS ONLY. LOTS OF RODEO, RANCHING, WESTERN SITUATIONS. ALSO LOTS OF EROTIC SCENES.

This is the fifth in the Rough Riders Series and the series continues to deliver. Lorelei James has a definite winning series on her hands. I cannot put these books down until I read them from cover to cover. The characters are all compelling and the interaction between the main characters of each book and with the characters from the other books is terrific. Chassie is from the West side of the McKay family and is trying to run a small ranch with her husband, Trevor. She believes they are totally happy until Edgard, Trevor's old rodeo partner shows up and turns her life upside down. However, due to dealing with a similar situation with her brother, she is willing to try to deal with the relationship between Trevor and Edgard. They all have something to give the other that binds them together. I really enjoyed this book and the characters as they faced many past issues to be able to be happy together.

This book was very entertaining. I really felt for the characters and wanted things to work out for them. The way it worked out was AWESOME. I can't wait to read the other books on the series.

Nice that Trevor finally finds what makes him happy, although he feels he's still missing something. Once that something (or, hmmm...someone) comes along will the happiness that Cassie gives him be jeapordized? Can she handle the secrets that will be unveiled? Not your normal romance story and neither is the outcome. If you've read one of the stories in this series, you must read them all. Love comes in all shapes and forms, it takes strong individuals to make their own happiness regardless of society "norms".

Very well written. Ms. James did a good job of covering the wide range of emotions of all three main characters. Definitly a steamy novel, but the plot is well developed also. Worth reading, but not for the "straight-laced".
