I have the first and second versions of ROVER and I absolutely love it. HUGE, colorful pictures of all types of dogs. Also, brings awareness to the importance of adopting shelter dogs. I recommend this book to anyone who loves dogs.

I bought this book for two reasons, first anything to do with animals and I am a sucker and secondly having recently taking up photography I have tried to link both. When I saw this book I knew it was the book for me. None of your fancy dressed up pooches (nothing against them if you have one) but dogs that have not always had a good start in life. There are so many dogs these days that end up in rescue centres if lucky they find wonderful homes to go to, or are able to stay in a good well run centre. Alas for some this is not always the case. Just think! You want to get a new member of your family, or a friend to travel down lifes highway with you. Take a look at this book and see the photographs of these wonderful creatures. Look into their eyes and with any luck you will be taking a trip to your nearest Animal Shelter where you will find a friend for life. You have a coffee table? Friends meet up with you in your home? Well just leave this book for them to look at when you are busy in the kitchen catering to their needs. I will bet it will be a source of conversation and who knows where it might lead! As for the photographer in you Andrew Grant explains how he came to take these photographs and that he like us all think it might just be easy to capture the essence of our family pets just by pointing and shooting. Well even the experts have problems so for me that gives me hope. This book does however show with time and patience look what can be achieved, amazing. So step one... you will be helping raise funds for dogs in shelters. step two... you will see what can be done with a little bit of an effort and a whole lot of patience. step three... you will just enjoy picking this book up from time to time and I tell you, you will see something different each time you look at it. So for all you animal lovers, in particular dog lovers and photographers this is the one for you!!
