Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Children's Literature
Most preschoolers are not so interested in plot as they are pictures. Although the pictures in Roxie and Bo are primitive, the paper engineering in this pop-up book is among the best I have seen. In this book, pictures don't only pop up or move from side to side, but they move in clever syncopation or coordination, evincing delighted giggles from young children and happy exclamations from adult readers-including this one.
School Library Journal
PreS-Gr 1 At first glance, this pull-the-tab, lift-the-flap book appears ready-made to quench every preschooler's thirst for more pop-up books. It has bright, bold colors and a spare and simple text, and stars an appealing fox and rabbit. Each character performs a task individually, and the following double-page spread shows them doing something together. Unfortunately, many of the tabs are awkward to pull or difficult to maneuver, which will lead to quick breakage. Others work well, such as Roxie wearing sunglasses, the piece moving easily back and forth over her eyes. For more successful paper engineering, stick with Lucy Cousins's "Maisy" books (Candlewick). Favorite Bedtime Book

Roxie and Bo is one of my son's favorite books. The pop-ups are great, and Roxie and Bo do such fun things together! I just did a search, and am disappointed that I can't find more books with Roxie and Bo.
