    Too much violence

Books should be rated for exteme violence. I prefer books that do not develop love and romance between the H and h from raping her.

hero rapes the main character but that's ok since she had an O. really? glad I didn't read this when I was young. Then gang rapes another but that's ok since we were not suppose to like her anyway.

    Royal Rape

This book is full of sexual violence. Not only does Rolfe, the so-called hero, rape the heroine but he participates in violent acts against two other women as well. He and his men terrorize a whore and he orders his men to strip a society matron in order to humiliate her into revealing information. And it doesn't stop there. Angeline is kidnapped THREE MORE TIMES! with all three of the other men attempting to rape her as well. There is also a gang-rape of another character. I saw nothing in Rolfe's character to elevate him above these other men who would mistreat an innocent woman.

I want to be clear that this is not BDSM or even "dubious consent." I know that rape is an unfortunate reality for a lot of women, but this book reduced it to a ridiculous plot device. One or two incidents (as long as they aren't between the H and h) can be okay if handled delicately, but this was way too much.

    Great book.

The series of the Princes of Ruthenia is a really great series. Mixing history, love, and lust is a powerful combination.

Jennifer Blake is one of my favorite authors. Both books of the Royal series are well worth reading, and in the line with a few of the other historical authors. After reading many of the sameness of the stories of many other authors I can strongly recommend her even though her heroes are some time thoughtless jerks.

    I Also Recommend:

    It was a good story

The story line was intriguing, the characters were great the romance was even good but I didn't care much about the way the author was trying to turn it into a Shakesperian play. Sometimes it was there sometimes it wasn't.
