Meet the Author

Kate Petrella has always been fascinated with the Royal Family's ability to carry on tradition, provide a bit of pageantry and romance in a cynical world, and utter some truly hilarious lines throughout history. Before becoming a freelance proofreader and copyeditor, Kate was a teacher, librarian, and co-owner/copyeditor of two city magazines. She lives with her husband and two exuberant English setters in northern Michigan.

Wish I had gotten this for free during the Royal wedding. At 55

Wish I had gotten this for free during the Royal wedding. At 55 pages long, almost 10 bucks for this is an absolute ripoff.

    Fun, curious, sometimes even wise

The royals got married and the world watched on TV. Meanwhile those of us who enjoyed previous royal weddings found our thoughts moving back in time to shared memories. Kate Petrella's ebook of Royal Wisdom (and royal gaffes) was a perfect gift to share with my mother, whose memories of royal weddings go much further back than mine. We recalled famous feet firmly planted in famous mouths; delightfully wise and off-beat sayings; comments surprising, hilarious, thought-provoking and sweet. And we enjoyed a happy afternoon together, reading our favorite quotes aloud and supping tea.

If you're a fan of the British royals, or a delighter in curious sayings and embarrassing blunders, this book's for you. It's a great introduction to the Kindle too with pleasing black-and-white graphics, neatly defined chapters, and a pleasing font.

Disclosure: I was lucky enough to get this free on my Kindle just before going to England to visit my Mum.

    Fun, quick read

Fun read with perfect timing as the royal wedding was just a few days ago. A lot of the quotes had me laughing out loud, especially the ones by Prince Philip as he is pretty clueless about real life and not PC in the slightest.

interesting quotes - insightful into royal personalities..

I agree w/the reviewer above. Just 41 pages of quotes and cheesy graphics. Good free read (and a hoot to read on royal wedding day)- would have beeen verrry disappointed @ 9 bucks.

    Short eBook

This is a cute little book - and I do mean little. Even though the file size is large, there is really only 41 pages of content including the Introduction. Nice quick read, and am happy I got is when it was free for one day. Wouldn't feel bad paying a nominal fee for it, but think the almost $9 price might be a little high for the size.
