Series: The Endurers
Book 1
Word Count: 49,547 Words

Hell is hot to get their hands on Anna Andrews, determined to use her plus-sized body for breeding purposes. Attacked by demons in her remote cabin in Alaska, she is sure there is no way out until a mysterious Endurer rescues her at the last moment. He’s been sent to get her to safety in Las Vegas, but he never counted on the sexual attraction that flares immediately between them.

Shayne McLoughlin was born in the 1400’s and lived as a Monk until a brutal attack destroyed his entire family, changing his life forever. Now an immortal Endurer that protects humanity from demonic beings, he expects his next assignment to be like any other. Until he meets the rubenesque beauty he has been sent to protect.

On the race to reach the safety of Las Vegas, they discover an explosive attraction that can’t be ignored. He can battle the demons that want her, but can he have victory over the power of her mind? Plagued by her past and an ex-boyfriend that used her in an attempt to satisfy his debt to Hell, Anna finds it hard to believe this gorgeous man is serious about her.

As the very world stands on the cusp of Armageddon, Shayne is determined to have this full-figured beauty at any cost. There isn’t any rule he won't break to claim Anna and keep her. Danger follows their every step as passion ignites at every turn. Is it a battle this Endurer can win?

Two taller, grotesque creatures started towards them, their red eyes gleaming unnaturally in the twilight of the evening.

Shayne was ready for them, an ornately carved dagger in each hand. “You girls looking to play?” he asked, his velvety, deep voice cutting through the night. “I know I am. Look, I'm even wearing my play clothes.” He was dressed completely in black.

The two glanced at each other before charging him as one. Shayne met them in a running leap just seconds before the two screamed in pain. The daggers moved quickly and immediately one of the demons fell, smoke rising from its body.

He glanced over to the last one standing and shook his head in disgust. His knife had carved deeply into the side of his face, leaving the flesh gaping open. Copious amounts of black fluid poured out, and he was missing an ear.

“Damn,” he said as his lip curled up in a sneer. “You guys just get uglier and uglier, don’t you? It looks like your face caught on fire and someone tried to put it out with a fork.”

He could see three more hellions spread out in the parking lot, but they paused at his words. They knew he was an Endurer, with the full backing of Heaven behind him. The evil inside of them naturally recoiled from the purity contained within his daggers and sword.

It didn't stop the demon in front of him though. “What a great idea,” he growled at Shayne. “I'll have fun trying it out on you in Hell.”

Shayne beckoned with his hand as he said mockingly, “You, I’m going to kill just to put you out of your misery.”

Rubenesque Rapture is a sex charged tale about a woman named Anna. Anna has been plagued by demons for as long as she can remember. Demons killed her mother and they abducted her. Now they are back and they want her to breed a new army of demons. Anna is determined not to let that happen. Enter Shayne. He is an immortal warrior and he has been sent to rescue Anna and protect her from the demons that want her so desperately. What neither of them expect is the instant attraction that flares between them. Shayne is determined to make Anna his. Can he convince her that not all men are scumbags, and that he would protect her and cherish her forever?

Rose Wynters has written a story that ensnares the reader from the very first page. Anna is a character that the reader will grow to love. She is insecure and self-conscious of her body, but Shayne shows her that her curves are sexy an alluring. The primal connection that exists between Anna and Shayne is so hot, that the reader is surrounded by the heat. Anna and Shayne are on a race to save the world and their love. This is an unbelievable to start to a fascinating new series.

Rubenesque Rapture is about a plus-size female named Anna. She is single and recently lost her mom under mysterious circumstances. She believes that demons killed her, the same demons that drugged her five years before.

Anna has basically been persecuted since her conception. Hell wants her to fulfill two separate blood debts. She has led a fairly lonely life because of this, not to mention she believes she will remain single because of her fuller figure.

A few nights after her mother's death, the demons from five years before return. At the very last possible moment, a gorgeous man rescues her. As they travel through Alaska attempting to reach consecrated ground in Las Vegas, a strong attraction grows between them. *Warning* The sexual interactions between them get very hot and very inventive.

I had the books in this series on my to-be-read list for awhile... When I finally got to Rubenesque Rapture, I was instantly hooked. I ended up reading all of the books in this series within a week, and I wish there were more.

Rubenesque Rapture is about a young, inexperienced bbw that has the ex boyfriend from hell. Their relationship didn't go far, he was basically just with her to get himself off the hook with demons.

Anna is thrown back into this hellish scenario when her mom dies... And she realizes it's all tied to her. The demons literally are not going to stop. She pretty much realizes that she's going to die when an Endurer ends up on the scene. Luckily for her, she's got unknown friends in high places.

The action in this book keeps happening, both in and out of the bedroom and the bathtub. It was a fun, entertaining read, a great starting book to the series.

This was my first foray into the BBW, or Rubenesque, genre. I have to say that I did like the concept, and I can certainly appreciate a fuller figured woman being the main character and the love interest of a gorgeous warrior. However, I felt like I was constantly being beat over the head about Anna's size. I only need to be told once that she is a size 24, curvaceous and plump, beauty. I don't need to be reminded of that every time I turn a page. I felt like it should have been a subtle enhancement to the story, not the albatross around its neck.

I was also very intrigued by the Endurer world. It started off fast and furious, introducing us to the immortal Endurer warriors who protect humankind from hell-sent demons. In the story, the world is on the edge of Armageddon, and Lucifer is preparing to send his demon army en masse into the world to wreak havoc and steal souls. But, the demons, and Lucifer, are determined to kidnap Anna and use her for breeding purposes. For some reason they are convinced that if they can get one of their evil puppets to impregnate her, she will give birth to the Antichrist. This was one of the story elements that was not really explained adequately. I never did really grasp why they believed that she was the one human female that could fulfill this desire. What made her so special? Since this is Book One in Rose Wynters' Endurers series, I expected (and needed) quite a bit more exposition to really bring the world to life for me. I felt like the whole time I was reading the book that I had jumped into an established series at around book two or three, and had missed some important details. And with this book being over 450 pages on my e-reader, there was certainly enough time to explain!

I was drawn in by the instant chemistry between Shayne and Anna, and while the sex scenes and dirty talk were hot (graphically, blush-inducing, hot!), it seemed a little forced. Instead of letting their attraction and lust develop naturally, it was rushed and jumped into way before I really believed it. I quickly got on board, but by the time I was ready to embrace their lustful romps, they were proclaiming their undying love for each other. It definitely helped move the story along, but it could have been that much better if it had been allowed to breathe a little bit.

Overall, I did really like this book. The characters were vivid and likeable, and I can really see myself getting drawn into this world and the coming battle between good and evil. Plus, Wynters did a really good job introducing enough secondary characters that she could carry this series on with several really interesting sequels. I will definitely pick up book number two when it is available!
