    Highly Recommended!!!!

I read the paperback version which has an aligator in a swimming pool. How could I not read this? It is funny, sexy, and actually has a good mystery. I usually know who the "killer" or other "bad guy" is by the middle of the book. I was having so much fun with the charachters in this one, I didn't even try to figure it out and was actually surprised by the ending. Can't wait to read more of this author.

    Don't miss this one!

If you love Janet Evanovich's small-town humor and Stephanie Bond-type mystery with Jennifer Cruisie-ish type characters, then you'll LOVE this book! Don't miss this debut book by author Jana DeLeon. It'll keep you laughing and guessing until the very last page!

AN EXCELLENT START FOR JANA DELEON

I bought this book soley for the title because I love to read about New Orleans and its neighboring towns.
It turned out to be a really good read, totally enjoyable. Ms. DeLeon's characters were believable, something I look for in a book, but don't always find.

I'm going to look for her next book and hopefully I'll really like it as well.

    Forget the title

What starts off as a rather silly situation and something more out of Carl Hiasson, this turns out to be a most entertaining book. The characters have some meaning and interest and the plot is actually better than expected. It is an enjoyable romp through the bayou with several folks who make it intriguing. Much than what I would have predicted.

    Loved it!

Great book for those who like the romance with a little comedy thrown in.
Though unrelated other than being based in south Louisiana, the author's Ghost-In-Law series and Unlucky have the same feel.

    BUY this book!

I absolutely loved Rumble on the Bayou! Not many books make me laugh out loud. Even fewer books keep me turning the pages long after I should be asleep at night. Rumble did both! The characters in the small, southern town of Gator Bait, Louisiana are wonderful, eccentric and completely believable. Deputy Dorie Berenger is smart, sharp and sexy. She's a heroine I can admire and believe in. City slicker DEA agent, Richard Stark, is a brash know-it-all who doesn't know who he's about to tangle with. He soon learns that he'd better get on Dorie's good side if they're going to solve the mystery of why there's an alligator, high on heroin, in Maylene Thibodeaux's swimming pool! And who does the finger, also in the 'gator's mouth, belong to? Maylene herself is hilarious - knocking back the homebrew and seeing aliens in the garden and unicorns in the bedroom. I loved sweet, shy Deputy Joe and his halting pursuit of the loveable Jenny. Dorie's father is there, with advice and help - but Dorie soon begins to wonder if he's a part of the problem. The other secondary characters are equally compelling and fully developed. No one dimensional characters in Rumble! Buy this book! You won't be sorry you did. I'm looking forward with eager (and slightly impatient!) anticipation for more, more, more from Jana DeLeon!

This book is a must read

Rumble On The Bayou is a spectacular debut novel by Jana DeLeon. _____ Deputy Dorie Berenger didn¿t know what to think when she was called to investigate a stoned alligator in a citizen¿s pool. Seems the alligator is high on heroin. This is beyond her small town experience but she isn¿t willing to let go of the investigation. Next thing she knows big city DEA Agent Richard Starke is throwing his weight around town. __________ Richard Starke had been hot on the trail of this drug ring for ages. No small town deputy and town folks are going to get in his way. His first meeting with a sunbathing Dorie knocks him off his feet. Richard realizes the locals especially Dorie know the town and surrounding swamps better then anyone. So he dials back his in your face ways to get some help. ______ As Richard and Dorie follow the clues to find the drug ringleader their relationship goes to a much deeper level. These two were fun to watch banter and act on their attraction to each other. When the danger is directed towards Dorie all beats are off as far as Richard is concerned. _____ Rumble On The Bayou was a delight from page one. It made me laugh out loud and want to get those trying to hurt the heroine and hero. The passion between Richard and Dorie sizzles anytime they are together. I am looking forward to the next book from the new author to me.

    Let's get ready to rumble!

I LOVE a good mystery especially one that keeps me guessing to the very end. And I love any book that takes place in Louisianna. This book is the perfect mix of mystery, sex, humor and wild locale. The characters are likeable, the story is engrossing and kept me guessing to the very end. I really hated for this one to end. I can hardly wait for her next one.
