A New Adult Contemporary Romance

All publicity is good publicity, right? Unless you’re recent college grad Ellie Wagner and an embarrassing video of you and your boyfriend goes viral. Every man in your life abandons you, but who knew a one-minute clip of your latest doomed relationship would brand you a slut, prevent you from getting your perfect job, and force you to keep doing the one thing you swore you’d never do again…live with your mother.

But staying with mom and her latest boy-toy (is this husband number four or five?) until your life turns around might not be all bad. Especially when you fall – literally – at the feet of a sexy, green-eyed stranger who offers you freedom and a life of luxury on a gold-rimmed platter.

There’s only one little problem – the man of your dreams is none other than Mason Nash, the latest hip-hop star busting up the music charts. Fame and fortune are his calling cards and he’s vying to steal the show on a new reality TV series that will catapult him into mainstream stardom. Hello spotlight.

The man behind the famous persona is perfect for Ellie in every way, but can she overcome the ugly pitfalls that come with Mason’s celebrity status? Or will she be forced to choose between the man she loves and the independent life she longs for? After all, fame and fortune aren’t always what they seem and not all publicity is good publicity…

“Rumor Has It is quite possibly one of the best New Adult debuts I’ve read–ever. I loved every hip-hop minute of it and can’t wait to read the rest of the series! I devoured it, from laugh out loud funny moments to hot Mason scenes, I was begging for more by the time I finished reading. I can’t wait to see what more this talented author has up her sleeve.”–Rachel Van Dyken, #1 New York Times Bestselling Author

“Sexy and sweet, Mason and Ellie are a couple you want to root for.”–Monica Murphy, NYT & USA Today Bestselling Author

Meet the Author

I’d been an avid reader my entire life, but when I discovered romance novels during my first pregnancy I was hooked! Not sure if it was the hormones or the lack of a life that was headed my way once my daughter was born, but since then I’ve been devouring several romance books a week. I love nothing more than reading about some serious alpha males and a happily ever after.Things you should know about me…I’m a fan of lists, so here’s mine:1. I live outside Toronto, Canada…eh. (Yes, it’s true. We Canadians say ‘eh’ A LOT.)2. I’m a wife and mommy to two small children which I refer to as Little Miss and Mr. Magoo.3. I own one cat spawned by the devil. Seriously. He’s as cute as they come but you’ve never met a meaner feline. In retrospect we should have named him, Lucifer. I have the scars to prove it.4. I believe there’s no such thing as too much chocolate. Or popcorn. Or bread. Or potatoes. Yes, you guessed it…I’m a sugar and carb addict.5. I hate running. Always have, always will. Unless David Gandy’s in the vicinity you won’t find me doing it. Ever. Not sure who David Gandy is and think you might want to become a Gandy Girl like me? Google him. You can thank me later.6. I’m a LOVER of all music. The 1200+ songs on my IPod can attest to the variety of my musical tastes. Hubby and I try to travel to a different music festival every year and are regular concert goers.7. My name is Elisabeth and I like reality TV. There I admitted it and that’s the first step, right? Yes, I’m a writer and I see the need for scripted shows, but sometimes there’s just something so entertaining about watching one Real Housewife lose it on another one. I could listen to Cochran’s diatribe on his fellow castaways for hours.8. Of the four of us that make up my family, three of us are Leo’s. Let’s say it together…DRAMA!9. I may be the world’s worst cook. My poor children. Unless Daddy’s cooking they know not to expect much.10. I write every night after my kids are in bed until the wee hours of the morning. This wouldn’t be a problem except for the fact that I have always been an early-bird-catches-the-worm kind-of girl, so 5:00am comes early. Sleep is over-rated, I say!

Elisabeth Grace's Rumor Has It was a sweet and fairly uncomplica

Elisabeth Grace's Rumor Has It was a sweet and fairly uncomplicated romance between a famous guy and a not-quite-so-famous girl. Ellie and Mason meet in a very unconventional – and rather amusing – way and have an immediate connection. They come from vastly different worlds, but can't fight their mutual attraction and wind up giving in to their desires. What's supposed to be a fling with an expiration date begins to feel a little more like something real and they have to decide whether or not it's worth fighting for.

Ellie was an interesting character. When I read the blurb for the book and saw that it mentioned an embarrassing video of her and her boyfriend, I immediately thought "sex tape." I was wrong. I can see how it was embarrassing, but I truly felt like it was all blown a little out of proportion. But, regardless, she was likable. Mason was sexy and exactly the opposite of what I picture when I learned he was a rapper. He was a good guy. They had a ton of chemistry and their sexy scenes were blazing hot.

I breezed right through this book. I really enjoyed Elisabeth Grace's writing style. Rumor Has It was told through Ellie and Mason's POV and each had a distinct voice, which I always appreciate. This book had humor, heart and enough miscommunications and secrets to keep things interesting without venturing too far into angsty. This wasn't a book that made me "feel all the feels," but it held my attention, kept me guessing and left me smiling at the end. I'm looking forward to reading Elisabeth's next book, Picture Perfect.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I must say I'm a bit biased, I just love the theme girl and famous guy, that being said. I love the story. Ellie and Mason are a great couple. The story line is good and the characters are quite interesting.

Ellie finds herself in an interesting situation due to a video gone viral, she gets unwanted attention and struggles with everything because of it. Then she meets Mason, a hip-hop star that assumes Ellie is just another fan, but then finds out she doesn't have a clue to who he is.

They start a journey, where you will get on a roller coaster and find yourself quite entertained around this pair, all their differences that makes them grow as individuals in order to get through them. You will get both POV so this is a plus.

Amazing book, just click on it and start reading, I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as I did.

Every time I think of this book I have an AWWWW moment! Ellie and Mason are so perfect together and I instantly fell in love with them - as individuals and as a couple.

I think I would have ran as far and as fast as I could from that house had my introduction to a gorgeous man gone down the way it had for Ellie, or perhaps I would have feigned a serious head injury or pretended to have blacked out just so I wouldn't have to face the embarrassment, but it did make for a hilarious icebreaker.

The chemistry was off the charts with these to amazing people and I rooted for them from start to finish. This story was funny, endearing and filled with some seriously smoking intimate moments. Ellie and Mason were two very different people but with so many similarities that together they just made sense. Of course, Mason's life threw a wrench into things on more than one occasion but I was glad they were able to work through things together, until the final catastrophe that almost tore them apart.

Ellie seemed to grow so much as a person as the story developed. It was great that she was able to open up to Mason, and in return he was able to do the same with her. It also showed just how much she loved him when she let go of some of her insecurities and hang ups to be with him, accepting the fact that dating a famous hip-hop star would mean she'd be in the spotlight. She also seemed to gain some of her confidence and power back, and her anti-bullying, empowering video kicked ass.

This story had it's bleak, dark and heartbreaking moments, but it held so many positive messages that it wasn't difficult getting excited about it. I loved every second of it!

A fun, sexy read. A smart, likeable heroine, a sexy, determined hero, a storyline filled with family and career challenges and a sweet and hot romance.

Ellie has experienced the downside of the limelight - thanks to a video that goes viral - and it has negatively impacted all facets of her life. She's been insulted, bullied, demonized and it has kept her from finding a job in her field. The last thing she wants is more attention but then she meets Mason, and choosing to be with Mason will put her right back in the spotlight.

I liked that it wasn't the usual girl and rock star story - him being famous is actually a big problem for her. And I really liked Ellie. She's a relatable character, a boomerang girl, trying to find where she fits. She's authentic, she doesn't try to change to fit in to Mason's life. Though she struggles with infamy throughout the book I really loved how she learned from her experiences and finally responded to the masses.

I have a crush on Mason... the way he loves his siblings, his commitment, his drive, his passion to achieve. And he's hot. And tattooed. And he has dimples. Dimples people!

I thought Ellie and Mason were great together. They get each other, support each other, challenge each other, encourage each other to pursue their dreams, and have great chemistry. I felt the emotional connection grow as they faced challenges to their relationship and to their careers. And the forehead kisses? Love the forehead kisses.

I'm very excited about this series and can't wait to read book two, Picture Perfect.

'Rumor Has It' is a New Adult contemporary romance that follows

'Rumor Has It' is a New Adult contemporary romance that follows lead characters Ellie Wagner and Mason Nash as their two very different lives collide and their worlds are turned completely upside down. Ellie has just graduated college when an embarrassing video of her and her ex goes up on the Internet - which basically ruins her life by preventing her from getting a good job and being seen as a slut. That's how Ellie finds herself moving back in with her mom and her latest husband and wondering how her life went so wrong. Enter Mason Nash - the newest hip hop music star who's rolling in money and fame. What will happen when Ellie's dream guy is always in the spotlight - the last place she wants to be?

This was a fun and steamy New Adult romance with deeper issues mixed into the story. Ellie is a great leading lady for the book. She's smart and determined, but she's also incredibly flawed - which I think makes her all the more realistic and easy to relate to. She makes a stupid mistake (the video with her boyfriend) which then takes on a life of its own and puts her in some bad positions. We've all been in a situation like that before, which made me love Ellie all the more. Mason is the standard man candy of the story - gorgeous, rich, famous, etc. But underneath his public persona is a completely different guy - one who is sweet, kind, and romantic. I liked that the author put two sides to Mason's character, because most people do the same thing in life - even if they aren't famous. We all wear masks in front of others to hide things about ourselves, which made me like Mason more along with giving the story an added depth. Among the fun story line, where Ellie and Mason meet and their relationship grows, there are some serious topics thrown in that makes the reader really think about things. The book deals with mistakes and their consequences, believing in yourself, doing what you believe is right, and (of course) love. I definitely liked watching Ellie and Mason's relationship develop - especially the steamy parts - and to see where they would end up by the end of the book. I'm glad that this is the first book in a series - there's so many great ways that the author can take the story and I can't wait to see what happens next. Definitely recommended for fans of New Adult contemporary romance!!

Rumor Has It is a sweet, and steamy New Adult romance from new a

Rumor Has It is a sweet, and steamy New Adult romance from new author Elisabeth Grace. Ms. Grace made a splash with her debut novel and I expect to see her around for quite some time. She was able to meld together an intense romance and lifestyle with laugh out loud moments. I love books like this because it makes me feel that I'm actually part of the story. I got a front row seat to all of the action and the alternating POVs allowed me to get inside the main characters'  heads. That's my number one must-have while reading a book. I have to be able to empathize with the characters and with Ellie and Mason it was just so easy.

Ellie is the recent victim of a viral video. So she's shut herself off from social media and is keeping her head down. But her unwanted fame is making it hard to land a job in the media business. So she's stuck assisting at a real estate office for a crap boss. By some twist of fate Ellie finds herself half naked and accused of breaking into Mason Nash's rental house. But something about Ellie strikes a chord with Mason. He finds every excuse and reason to pursue a relationship with her. But when she finds out he has his own claim to fame she is forced to put on the breaks. These two have so much in common and such an attraction that they can't just stay away. Eventually, they find a way to make it work. Until, a series of unfortunate and malicious events occur that could derail them and ruin everything. I'm talking careers, relationships. Nearing the end of the book it was a twisted web of deceit that I didn't see coming at all. But I have to say I love it when an author can surprise me!

This book was unique. Not only was it a fantastic read. But it has a very important message. In a society that is dependent upon social media, and allows some individuals to thrive on bullying, we're made aware of the harsh reality of it but, it's still out there and a very relevant problem. Elisabeth Grace presents the cold hard facts and detrimental effects of social media and bullying. But she does it with finesse and wields it into a captivating story. It wasn't preachy or full of blame. It was simply a story of a woman who found a way to rise above those obstacles when it could have easily gone the other way. In the end, Rumor Has It is told with a refreshing voice and a story that will suck you in. Ellie and Mason are both a sensual and comedic couple and I couldn't get enough of their story. Ms. Grace is definitely an author to look out for and absolutely worth reading!

    Happy Reading!

    Good

This book was..... it wasn't the right book for me. It had almost flawless grammar/spelling errors, it had good characters, the story line wasn't original but it worked, however, this book just did not touch me in that special way. I'm sure many others, however, would adore this book. I would read another book from this author.

    2.75 / 5 stars

I really liked the idea of this storyline! I am such a sucker for music industry romances and reading about the pressures they have to endure in regards to their appearance, personal life, and how to handle the paparazzi. I didn't like this one quite as much as I did Picture Perfect though. The second book in the series had a stronger storyline and we didn't see as much back and forth as we did in this book.

Pacing: I felt the pacing was okay in this one. It wasn't a hard read at all, despite some of the choppy phrasing, but I did feel drama was thrown in just to create angst and a story. This storyline had the potential to really explore the music world, Mason's struggle between a new romance and his career, as well as Ellie's fear of being sucked back into the limelight due to a previous incident. With that being said, I just felt that exploration was a bit lacking and everything resolved a bit quicker for my tastes.

Storyline: Ellie is trying her best to stay out of the limelight after a video went viral of her. (I personally didn't think the video was as big of a deal as it was made out to be, but that's just me.) She works a job she doesn't particularly care for, but it is because of that job she meets rapper Mason Nash. She (literally) stumbles into his life and he is immediately intrigued by her. He is determined to spend time with her, but knows their time together is limited, as his break from work will only last so long. Mason finds himself torn between the woman he's slowly falling for and the career that he's worked hard to build. Ellie, on the other hand, is afraid of how past transgressions will affect being with Mason. She doesn't want to be in the spotlight, but she will have to decide if she can get past that in order to be with the guy she's falling for.

Characters: I liked Ellie and Mason's characters and their personalities. However, their thoughts were very back and forth and I felt like I was getting whiplash. One minute they would be resolute in their thinking and the very next would completely change their mind. It was a bit frustrating to read, as I couldn't get a good hold of their true thoughts and feelings.

Final Thoughts: I didn't like this one as much as Picture Perfect, but it did give us a nice introduction of the characters that I have grown to love so much. I felt Rumor Has It had a lot of potential, but unfortunately I just didn't connect with it as much as I would have liked. I don't like when excessive drama is created just to keep the storyline moving and I just thought some of it was too over the top.

    Worth the read

Mason & Ellie are not what I expected and I almost didn't read the book. I ending up really enjoying this book! So I bet you're wondering why only 4 stars. I wanted more! I wasn't ready for their story to end. I am hoping book 2 about Skye will give me some of the 'more' I am looking for. Worth the read!

Ellie is back at home with her mom. Not her most exciting place

Ellie is back at home with her mom. Not her most exciting place to be.
Mason is trying to get away from everything.
These two get together and everything is smoking HOT!!!
    OMG!!!
Ellie is trying to keep out of the spot light and Mason attract it.
Mason is trying to protect Ellie from the spot light and then his past comes in and causes everything they have built and Ellie is ready to throw it all away because of one story.
Basically, it is a lot of trust issues that they both have to get over, but the story revolves around two people meant to be together with a lot of drama that is thrown in that could tear them apart.
I loved this story. It is wonderful and a great intense read.
Ellie doesn't take anything for granted.
Mason can't believe that he is given this chance to find such a wonderful gift.
    AMAZING!!!
