Overview

Imp, deceiver, villainous mastermind Rumpelstiltskins been called all these names and more, and for the most part, theyre entirely true. But there is more to the brooding, blond haired Adonis than brokering deals for the devil. Hes hiding a terrible, hideous secret. One that threatens to fray the already delicate strands of his sanity and reason. A secret that hes desperate to make right, to see whole again, and there is no one and nothing that will stand in his way of getting what he wantsno one except a slip of woman with hair like fire and skin like finest porcelain. Something about Shayera Caron calls to the beast inside him and makes him question his motives for the first time in his life.

Shayera Caron is the daughter of the infamous Gerard Caron, former lothario of Kingdom but now a reformed rake and settled husband and father. She can go nowhere in her tiny hamlet without seeing the sneers of women and hearing the murmurings of their disdain for the blood that runs through her veins. Shayera is desperate to get away from the gossiping hens, so when Rumpelstiltskin rides into town, she doesnt think twice before going wherever he leads. Only thing is Shayera is not as innocent as she might seem, for she hides a secret too. One that will bring the most feared man in all of Kingdom to his knees

Meet the Author

Marie Hall is a NY TIMES and USA Today bestselling author who loves books that make you think, or feel something. Preferably both. And while she's a total girly girl and loves glitter and rainbows, she's just as happy when she's writing about the dark underbelly of society. Well, if things like zombies, and vampires, and werewolves, and mermaids existed. (Although she has it on good authority that mermaids do in fact exist, because the internet told her so.)

She's married to the love of her life, a sexy beast of a caveman who likes to refer to himself as Big Hunk. She has two awesome kids, lives in Hawaii, loves cooking and occasionally has been known to crochet. She also really loves talking about herself in the third person.

Everyone who said this book was good lied I feel like every one of her books have the same plot and the same ending. It was upsetting  to hear that this was thought to be her best book when clearly her best book was gerads beauty. And this book only had 180 pgs come. Its time for some diversity Ms.Hall maybe a little more reality btw loved gerad's beauty sorry I know this is harsh but some the best lessons come from the hardest confrontation.

Never have I thought Rumplestilkin was a good bad boy in any story I have read. But when he meets Danika's beauty Shayera Caron she is the daughter of the Gerard Caron, former lothario of Kingdom ~~ Rumplestilkin has met his match in Shaysera and she wants nothing to do with him and his unruly ways. Kingdom has a way of bringing you into the world of magic and love you really don't want to leave. You will also never look at Bad Boy Rumpletilkin the same way.

Rumpel was definitely much better than the Huntsman! I loved his story! He was sassy but super sexy with that touch of vulnerability that every bad boy should have. Shayera's character was fabulous, she really was her father's daughter...except without the whoring part..lol. They were matched perfectly even if it doesn't seem so in the beginning! SR

I really loved this book its the first one i've read of the dark princess saga. I really loved rumple and shayeras story and hope to see more of them. I was a bit confused in the beginning because in hook's pan it said that betty and gerards child was named chrysalis but that turned out to be hatter and alice's daughter. I think the names work better this way and both are pretty.

This is the best of the kingdom series! It really is a must read. I was unsure about continuing with the series after my disappointment with "Hunter's Prey", but I am so glad I did.

I never imagined that the children's classic, which has always been one of my favorites, could steal my heart so completely. Rumpelstiltskin (?) is a cold, unfeeling, heartless bastard. Shayara Caron is a closeted, antisocial, woman-child. Or are they? Read on as Marie Hall takes you into a fairy tale world filled with every one of your childhoid stories and shows you the truth between the words of those pages. What would you do to save your only child? Would you search endlessly for something you can only hope will work out of desperation? And when you finally find that saving grace and discover it holds your heart, can you kill end your world's love and joy? A monster comes to your home, threatening the simple peace and love of your family; you give yourself to save them. You only have to fail every test thrown at you. Simple. But what happens when you fall in love with that monster and realize they're not really a monster after all. Maybe. How far are you willing to go for love, when you know it ends your life?

I gave Rumpel 5 stars because I completely fell in love with Rumpelstiltskin or Rumpel as he is called here.   He is my current favorite in the Princess Saga because I can't resist a blonde haired bad boy.  At the very beginning of the book, I was a little upset at Rumpel because of how he abducted Shayera, but he won me over quickly with his wit and charms.  Together Shayera and Rumpel are smoking hot and definitely worth a re-read! Marie Hall is an amazing writer who takes characters we've heard of before and completely reinvents them.  If you love fairy tales and love stories as much as I do, I highly recommend getting the whole series, and going back and getting the Kingdom series as well. You won't regret it!!!

Wow..is what I say every time I think about this book. This one is in fact going on my re-read list. It could be read as a stand alone, but do yourself the favor and read the series. YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED! This book is about Rumpelstiltskin and Shayera Caron (daughter of Gerard:aka "villian" in beauty and beast/ main character in Gerard's Beauty the Kingdom Series by Marie Hall). Shayera and Rumple are both keeping secrets and as the author slowly reveals them to each other and eventually their secrets a tension, a story, and a love is revealed that could not be denied. The book begins with us meeting Rumple dealing with someone he has made a deal with, giving us insight into him. He is then off to take his boon from the deal with Gerard Caron from long ago, knowing it would be Shayera he would collect and not the day of work promised by Gerard. I will not give spoilers sweetie, but say this....Come along for the ride on Rumpel's wild "steed"!
