Dated But Still All Right

Kinda like the West Side Story. They use to knuckle up and had some bravery and honor. Cowards just shoot today. A great testimony of the Life Saving changing power of God who became flesh in the person of Jesus Christ.

Bangin' & Slangin' Ain't Nothin' New..........

& Before most of America was ¿set tripin¿¿, their was Nicky Cruz. This is one of two testimonials in a rare Genre of former gang bangers who came to a Cross Roads where they were confronted with the good news of the life saving, changing power of God, in the person of Jesus Christ. How there lives were changed dramatically, by the good news, brought to the world by God in human flesh, by again, Jesus Christ. Nicky was straight 5150, out of control and did not care if he lived or died before this. He did not expect to live very long so he did care, period!. Nicky, was a forerunner to what has become all to common and familiar today, yet fifty years ago. Although somewhat dated, the problems remain the same today. As is the Gospel message of hope is timeless too, and the Bible always has been and will be the #1 seller among books because of it.

This story relates how one brave country preacher came with a simple message of hope, love, and how one young man in particular, Nicky, responded. (The very worst of his gang, the most violent, likely to die or spend the rest of his life in prison.) How his life was completely transformed by the truth of the word of God was a miracle. It communicates how that same word, even Jesus, broke through the darkness of this bound and enslaved life to dope and violence and delivered this young man from much evil. Nicky Cruz is the original gang banger's preacher as a result, from where they were bangin' in New York City back in the 1950's man. Nicky's life has since born much fruit in an effective powerful ministry. Surely if the Lord could do this for Nicky, he could do this for anyone. This is the power of this testimonial which a great true story. As is Nicky Cruz's personal relationship with Jesus Christ, which is strong, true and real with the one true living God. This is what true Christianity really is all about. Setting the captives and those who are bound free. Taste and see the Lord is good. This testimonial and the only other one in this genre I know about is recommended and all good too.

As a kid Nicky grew up in Puerto Rico and was neglected as a child. He suffered severe physical and mental abuse at their hands. His mom called him the son of Satan. When Nicky was growing up he was getting into all sorts of trouble. His parents decided to send him to New York to live with his brother. He didn’t stay with his brother long. A kid full of anger and rage decided he could make it on his own. When Nicky was 16 he became a member of a notorious Brooklyn gang called the Mau Maus. Within 6 months of being in the gang he became their president. Nicky’s story has brought a lot of hope into peoples life showing them that whatever kind of trouble you are in that there is always a way of getting out of it. The things I like about this book are that it shows the character that he has to share his story to the people who walked in his shoes. There is nothing bad about this book at all; he is sharing his story because he wants to help people that grew up in difficult places. I think everybody should read this book because it shows all the hardships that he had to fight while growing up. My dad made me read this book because I was getting into a lot of trouble as a kid. This book made me realize what I was doing, and that I had to make a change in my life. Other great books by Nicky Cruz is “Soul Obsession: When God's Primary Pursuit Becomes Your Life's Driving Passion” this book shows all the wonderful things that God does for us. It’s about Nicky sharing his powerful personal stories of faithful obedience, even in the midst of difficult circumstances–including the amazing story of his mother’s deathbed conversion and healing. You, too, can move past doubts, understand both the natural and supernatural worlds, and develop a faith that can move any mountain, no matter how high or wide or difficult.

Thank You Jesus For Bringing Nicky To Us

I read this book many years ago and will never forget what I learned, I was also rewarded in being able to see and hear Nicky preach one night several years ago. I just want to Thank Jesus and David Wilkerson for bringing Nicky to all of us. I truly believe so many lives have been touched because of Nicky Cruz and David Wilkerson.

    amazingly powerful

I first read this book when I was a freshman in High School for a book report and, to this day, I still believe it saved my life. Like Nicky, I too am Puerto Rican and I grew up in the Bronx, New York. I was having problems in school and really had no direction in life, but when I read Nicky's life story, my life changed for ever. Today I'm 45 years old and I'm fine. Thanks Nicky!

    From O.G. Nicky -2- Minis+er Cruz

A P.R. brother in NYC had no place to run really, so homeboy stood his ground and fought, as he does for the Lord to this day, who saved Nicky's life and eternal soul. The Caption says it all as Nicky was brought out of bondage, addiction and slavery to many a sin and many a wound. Confronted with the truth in and of the life saving changing power of God in the person of Jesus Christ, Nicky was a forerunner to the common place today. Nicky has never since been content to stay comfortable. He has shared the power, the love and deliverance of the Lord with many a those who have lost hope, as he had once himself, long ago. A great story and still very important today. Read this one and the one recommended below, as the most powerful testimonials from the mean streets of now any where, and every where........

an insiping, life changing book that will leave you asking for more.

Run Baby Run is a mix of emotionally moving and gripping moments in this young boy's life as a run away that wants to find something better in his life. It makes some believe they're actually in the action and fights right along with the author, Nicky Cruz. Readers will experience all of his hardships, troubles, and accomplishments. The story will make you laugh, cry, and scream.

Cruz approaches this book with a serious and tiresome struggle for his life from a young boy to an adult and his terrifying, emotional fight to find the one thing he'd never had before. Filled with gangs, power, and action, the author keeps you on your toes from the first page to the very last.

Depressed and alone underneath his back porch as a kid, Nicky thinks about life, convinced that he didn't belong where he was. Feeling lonely and scared since his brothers left to go to New York, he would run away from home every day. Finally his father called up his brother and asked if Nicky could stay with him. On the way there Nicky escaped and started running for his life!

""Stop that crazy kid!" someone shouted. The door of the Pan Am constellation had just swung open and I darted down the steps toward the terminal at New York's Idlewild Airport. It was January 4, 1955, and the cold wind stung my cheeks and ears." Nicky tells us to begin his story of his life. It tells of him running and running and running some more just to get away from all the tragedy in his life.

No one will ever look at life the same way ever again as Nicky explains his struggles through life on his own all the while being scared and trapped.

Racing against time, Nicky tries to understand why he hurts so much inside but has so much stuff around him and so many friends around him all the time. He wonders how he could be so happy but so sad and alone all at the same time.

This book is an amazing whirl wind of emotions and the second you pick it up you will get caught in the storm.

    Nicky's Srtrugle

I think that kids can really relate to this book. I remember my mother making me read this book, because i was a bad kid. By the time I was done reading this book. I turned my life around. Now I have two jobs, i'm getting married soon, and me and my mother are closer than ever. All because of this book. I would really recommend this book to any parent that has a child that is acting up and watch and see the changes in there attitude. You will love 'Run Baby Run' just as much as I did.

Nicky's Legs To Short to Run From The Lord

This is the kind of book we need to give to our teenagers today however dated. They can relate in the realest way possible. The pressures of peers, drugs, sex, the macho attitude, and loneliness. It tells of a boy and many others who just want someone to love them. It tells of how God uses other people to help these teenagers see that they are truly NOT alone. The Lord loves them, no matter what crimes they've committed, or what kind of darkness is in their heads and hearts. Nicky Cruz shares his life with us in the most open way. He helps you see how his life was transformed from one of gang life to a wonderful life with a wife, children, and a mission to help other who were just like him. I highly recommend it. Even if you don't believe in God or His awesome power, you will still be able to relate to Nicky. I guarantee you'll be rooting for him and will feel joy in his life-changing moments. He is truly a man touched by our God Jesus, and he experienced His life saving changing power.

    No More Places To Run.

The world has changed since the late 1950's. There are no more places to run or hide. The decisons today for youth are life or death. There are no more rumbles, only gun shells raining on the pavement and my generations tombstones that litter America's grave yards. Nicky is for real and so is his book. If God can redeem his life he can anyone's life.

    A GREAT BOOK TO READ

This book showed how someone living the street life with gangs and drugs gave their life to GOD. His life changed for the better and how he tried to make up for all the bad he has done in his life. Not to forget how powerful his word is while he preaches and how GOD can change anyones life if they believe in him and give their life to him.

    A Must Read for Everyone

I read this book in the mid-seventies when Nicky Cruz was promoting it. I was a teenager who never realized there was so much wickedness in the world, even back then. Nicky Cruzs' book is easy to read and it lets us know we all can make positive changes in our life if we are willing. There is a higher power and a better life for us all!!!
