This book will get you started

This book is good. It got me started with my running program. It was an easy read. It introduced me to the culture of running. I learned the basics of running and it inspired me to sign up for a road race in June.

    gets you out there

the best thing about this book is how it feels like instead of reading an instruction manual, you are just talking to a friend. getting advice on how , where, when, why, etc. it is truly inspirational.

Run for Your Life: A Book for Beginning Women Runners

This is hands down the best book for beginning runners on the market (and I¿ve read them all). Very motivational, full of easily accessible and helpful information, and some great humor too. And the tone is warm and personal and reads like good advice from your new best friend. I also love all the quotes from women runners that are peppered throughout (from ages 22 ¿ 52). You feel like they¿re all part of it with you. What a great idea, solidly executed¿ the perfect launching pad for any woman who wants to start running. It¿ll get you out there and keep you out there for years to come.

Run for Your Life: A Book for Beginning Women Runners

What I think is so great about this book is that in addition to covering the basics of running (techniques, stretching, etc..) it also helps you to better focus on what running means to you. I've been running for years.... I know what to wear, where to run, etc. I need help staying motivated! Run for Your Life guides you on making running more then a exercise regime but a way of life, physically and emotionally satisfying. I highly! reccomend it for beginning and lon-time runners.

Made my runnning dream a reality

This book is awesome! I actually had a chance to read a preview copy and decided, what the heck, why not try it? It made running so less intimidating to me...and what do you know, I'm running now! For the first time in my 34 years!!!! The book is great because it answered a lot of those niggly little questions I've always had but been too afraid (or ashamed) to ask, like those about pain, what to wear, and other questions too 'feminine' for this review :-)!. The book gave me lot's of options for workout plans to fit my lifestyle and my goals, which also helped. But the thing that really made it for me was the writing style...totally conversational, non-threatening, easy and fun to read! I found myself laughing out loud a few times and was EASILY able to relate to stories and anecdotes. The quotes from the other women runners were very inspiritional, and there's a WEALTH of information in the back about suppliers, races, web sites...you name it! If you are someone like me who never thought they could run, give this book a read...you'll see it's not only possible, it's a lot of fun!
