Meet the Author


Dimity McDowell and Sarah Bowen Shea are successful sports and fitness freelance writers. As an assignment for Runner's World, they trained together for the 2007 Nike Women's Marathon, and they continue to run regularly in races of all lengths. Both are mothers and longtime runners.

    I love this book!

    Given to me by my running buddy, another mom. We love this book and have discussed it inside and out during our runs. Funny, informative and inspirational! This book has helped to inspire me to go from mostly coach potato to half marathoning mommy. Thanks Dimity and Sarah!

    Great read. These mothers got down to the nitty gritty of runnin

    Great read. These mothers got down to the nitty gritty of running. Nothing was too embarrassing or too trivial to discuss. I love their sense of humor and their motherly advice. This is now my "go to" book when I need inspiration to get out of the bed and lace up my shoes.

    LOVED THIS BOOK!!

    Absolutely wonderful book about the challenges of balancing a family with running as a hobby. I felt an instant connection to these women as well as all mother's who struggle to raise a family and maintain a piece of themselves. Also packed full of great tips and information from clothing, to shoes, to accessories to training. I bought a copy for all of my running friends. Can't wait for Train Like A Mother to come out!!

    Great Book!

    This book is excellent! Easy to read, relate to, and enjoy. Have read it twice already! Helps me to feel even better about running and being a great Mommy and Wife too. The chapters are written so that you can focus on one topic at a time. Highly motivational and entertaining:)

    Highly recommended!!! Loved it!!

    If you're just starting to run, if you've been running, if you're a mom or not this one is awesome!!! It's funny and inspirational!! Every chapter I read I couldn't wait to get out for a run again! This is very fun and easy to read!! They are coming out with a new one spring 2012!!! So I am anxiously awaiting the next book!!

    Inspiring

    Inspiring

    I'm a beginning runner in my early forties. I found the book via a blog and really enjoyed it. Definitely made me want to get out and do more. Good advice and personal stories.
