Run Like Hell (The Cassidy Chronicles)
Set a century in the future, Run Like Hell is a fast-moving adventure - well, why don't we let JM Leitch, author of The Zul Enigma, tell you about it? "Run Like Hell doesn't fall into the weighty adventure scifi type of novel I usually choose - it is also a light hearted futuristic romance - but having said that it's beefed up with good science and is a well constructed and well written book. The main characters are charming and original and dazzle the reader with their quick and witty repartee. Set 100 years in the future, the book opens with the wedding of two female friends, Kendra (Ken) Foster-Briggs exotic actress and film producer, Aiyana Cassidy (Cass) half Irish/half Native American graduate from MIT with a Doctorate in Optical Engineering, and Derek James, a man of independent means. The only problem is instead of the Reverend marrying them he pulls a gun on them, forcing them to Run Like Hell. Surviving a second attack the two ladies leave Derek behind and after working out Cass is the target, Ken arranges new identities and a safe place for them both to lay low until they can sort out the mess they find themselves in. I won't give away any more of the plot but I will say this is a fast paced page-turner and worthy of the 5 stars I have given it."

About the Author

Just the facts: Born in Maine, live now in Maine, grew up here and there. Went to a great high school and a few meh colleges (or maybe they were just meh in comparison). Lives with 13 chickens, 6 ducks, 4 cats, 3 dogs, and the most wonderful woman I can imagine.

Every author starts as a reader, and the same is true for me. Some of first 'real' books I remember are the Foundation series by Isaac Asimov, the Hornblower books by C.S.Forester, and Lad by Albert Payson Terhune. The, ah, let's just say 'eclectic' nature of these first few began a trend that continues today, as I read just about anything. You want a list? Okay. In no order (except as they occur to me):
Dan Brown.
Robert Heinlein.
Stephanie Bond.
Dave Barry.
Lisa Mantchev.
John Ringo.
David Weber.
Isaac Asimov (yes, still).
David R. Palmer.
Spider Robinson.
Randall Garrett.
Frank Herbert.
W.E.B. Griffin.
Clive Cussler.
Gemma Halliday.

Is the picture coming into focus? No? Exactly. There's way too many authors out there to limit myself to a single one, or even a single genre, though I do tend to return to science fiction.

'From these seeds did a mighty tree grow.'

I've been writing for years, dating back to high school, but only recently have I started getting 'out there' into the world. I hope that others will be inspired to try their hand at writing; at the very least, I hope you enjoy reading about my characters as much as I enjoyed creating them.
