    Great images, OK story

I struggled between 3 and 4 stars for this because the illustrations are quite good, but the story is just decent. This is probably the best of the Runaways books (1-4 which I've read) as it doesn't juggle so many characters (like the duplicative "parents" characters), but it relies on fanboyish knowledge of the Marvel universe to get all the jokes/references and none of the characters are terribly interesting. Vaughn's "Y: The Last Man" features much more original writing/stories.

Runaways series returns as good as ever.

Thanks to die hard fans, the acclaimed series by writer Brian K. Vaughan and artist Adrian Alphona returned and was still at peak level with this first story arc. The teens are now dedicated to trying to syop the villians trying to fill the void by their parents The Pride but when they get a visitor claiming to be from the future, they end up on a mission to stop another teen from becoming the greatest villian the world will ever know. Meanwhile, a group of former super heroes tries to bring the Runaways and they find their greatest threat from one of the Marvel universe's most powerful and evil villians. This story introduces an important knew character and sets the tone for this creative teams new run on the series which was uniformly excellent.
