Overview

Every time he thinks he's found someone, it all goes horrifically wrong.

Manlove classic, first time ever containing the original story, the sequel novel, and a new, never-before-published concluding novella. M.Christian's masterful queer thriller/horror novel is back in print with 20,000 additional words.

He’s immortal. He drinks blood. But he's not a vampire. Doud’s totally unique – a being no one’s ever seen before – and he’s desperately lonely for a lover: a special someone who will not just join him in his bed but his strange life as well. But every time he thinks he's found someone it all goes horrifically wrong.

Then one day a monster from his past returns: a thing of bitterness and fury he believed was long dead. Doud, with his friend Shelly in tow, begins a terrifying chase that begins in Los Angeles and ends in a blistering confrontation in the desert’s baking wastes. There, in the heat and the dust, Doud will confront what he is, what he’s become, his deepest and darkest sexual desires and lusts.

Doud will get what he’s always wanted out of his long, strange life – but it will be nothing that Doud, or you, could ever have imagined!

Meet the Author

Calling M.Christian versatile is a tremendous understatement. Extensively published in science fiction, fantasy, horror, thrillers, and even non-fiction, it is in erotica that M.Christian has become an acknowledged master - with more than 400 stories in such anthologies as Best American Erotica, Best Gay Erotica, Best Lesbian Erotica, Best Bisexual Erotica, Best Fetish Erotica, and, in fact, too many anthologies, magazines, and sites to name.

M. Christian has also edited a distinguished line of anthologies on his own and with collaborators like Maxim Jakubowski and Sage Vivant.

His novels Running Dry, The Very Bloody Marys, Me2, Brushes, and Painted Doll were published to critical acclaim. He blogs monthly for The Erotica Readers and Writers Association website.

When he's not writing - which isn't often - M.Christian ("Chris" to his friends) is an avid foodie, gamer, photographer, and also creates odd little art projects ... and, considering Chris, 'odd' is an understatement as well.

    Running Dry

This is not your average gay vampire novel. If you are looking to break away from torn love and the explicit sex that comes with a vampire novel, this is your book. This book is action packed and moves along very quickly. I like that the action keeps going and building. The vampires in this book are not "romantic" like in other books I've read either. They are more horrific. I liked this book, and will read others that M. Christian writes. However, I like the smut that I get from the other gay vampires.

Is he a vampire or what?

This is a very original book, and I say that because at no time does the author or the main character refer to the protagonist as a vampire. And that's actually good because it leaves you intrigued and mildly confused about what the main character actually is. There are no cloaks and daggers (but plenty of blood and guts) in this book, and I found that I truly enjoyed this new and refreshing look at what a vampire could be. The author's imagination is just terrific -- I really got 'sucked into' what he created. Plus, it's a great love story.
