Would you flee from the life you live in if you could?
Connie, Suzy, and Karen did. Through their desperate attempts to reclaim themselves, the paths of these three women become intertwined. They develop a friendship and sisterhood stronger than any of them imagined.
Refusing to let one another face any of their hardships alone, they set out together on a journey toward discovery, hope, and freedom. But what they don't expect are the heartaches, betrayals, and shattered lives that lie waiting.
Summary: Best friends, Suzy convinces Connie to toss the apron, put away the pots and pans and run away from home. Tired of overbearing `good old boys' husbands, just like Thelma and Louise, they hit the road to try and reclaim who they once were. During a three day women's conference for abused women, the two meet Karen who is trying to escape an abusive husband who will kill her if he finds out where she is. Sharing a motel room, the three share their hopes, disappointments and dreams. Togethe
I picked up this book because of its subject matter - domestic abuse. As a survivor, I have never read a first-person account book, fiction or non-fiction. It's graphic with vivid details that an abused woman or a survivor of domestic violence will recognize all too well. There's no sugar-coating here. The author is brave enough to put it all out there for her readers and I'm thankful that I bought it.
Yes, it took me right back to some unbearable days, some terrifying moments, some horr
What would it be like if you were drowning and dying inside, your life a painful misery because of a man ... and you had friends who refused to let you drown?
This book touched me deeply. The plot is quite simple: one day, three different women, abused and/or neglected by their husbands, read the same magazine article and they take a courageous leap out of their prison-like lives.
I couldn't put the book down; some of the twists and turns the book took shocked me, made me grin,
I wasn't sure what to expect when I started to read this book.
However, before I begin I must say I love the title 'Running From Beige.' I will never look at the colour beige in quite the same way again!
Terri Marie's book is a work of fiction, but within its pages there is profound truth. I can honestly say there are not many books that bring me to tears...this book did, many times! It is so powerful. To me it felt as though the author was pouring herself into the pages of the book.
This book filled me with so much emotion from the very first page until the very last. I felt myself laughing and crying and unable to put it down. Powerful is the best word I can think to describe this title. Three very different women, from three extremely different circumstances connect because of varying levels of abuse. Two of the women are best friends, but they were walked on for so many years they forgot how to stand tall. One woman was beaten so badly that she was afraid to even move wh

Meet the Author
I love to write stories in different genres that paint you a picture, take you places you wouldn't ordinarily be able to go, and make you carry the characters in your heart and mind for years to come, just as I experienced when I created them. If a smile shines upon your face, a lesson is learned, and you wanted to sit down again and turn another page, then I am happy. If you recommend it to someone...I'm ecstatic!
Thank you for your support and enthusiasm in my writing, and for your honest reviews. I read all my emails and if you contact me via my website, I will write back.
If I'm not writing a book I'm busy being a mom, which is indeed my favorite part of life. More books are to come!
