In 2008, Jason Lester became the first person with a disability to finish the Ultraman World Championship alongside able-bodied competitors. With the use of only three limbs, Jason competed in one of the most demanding endurance races in the world, swimming 6.2 miles, biking 261.4 miles, and running 52.4 miles to the finish line. Jason has completed over seventy triathlons, biathlons, marathons, Ironmans, and Ultramans. In 2009, he became the first male triathlete to win an ESPY Award and the fifteenth athlete in the history of Ultraman to complete both the Ultraman World Championship and Ultraman Canada in the same year.
Yet Jason Lester's life as an athlete almost never happened. When a speeding car ran a red light, a bike ride to the local video store nearly became Jason's last, sending him 130 feet into the air and ultimately to the hospital with twenty broken bones. The pain was intense and long rehabilitation grueling, compounded by the sudden death of his father (his best friend and mentor) and the realization that his right arm was paralyzed. Only twelve years old and struggling to heal amid the grief, Jason miraculously found the strength to fight his way back. Without the use of his arm, he refused to give up the sports he'd grown to love, recommitting himself to life and ultimately surpassing goals that few dared to set.

In Jason's book he tells the incredible experience of the ultraman triathlon. With only one arm, Jason must overcome what most people would consider impossible with two. Jason takes you along with him on his gruesome journey through his triathlon.
I liked this book because It is truly inspiring. To read about Lester's determination to do what he is called to do, even though he knows it wont be easy makes me want to go do something amazing.
It is tough to point out something i dislike about this book, but i think if i had to say i would have to admit that i wish jason talked a little bit more about his faith and religion. I was kind of hoping he would say stuff like " i felt angles carry me along" or something.
All things considered this was a great book. I would recommend this to everyone looking for a good book. Not tough to read and it will really drive you to do great things.

Jason Lester opens his life to the reader in way which gives you an instant connect. He shares an incredible journey in a truly intimate way which awakens insights at every turn.

I would recomend this book to not only runners but everyone. This is amazing person who can swim bike and run with a parilized arm. AMAZING!!!!!!

Jason's story of how he has overcome obstacle after obstacle is no doubt inspiring. The 9 lessons he teaches in his book are right on target - this is a life handbook with lessons to be applied to all of us. humbling.
