He's a mogul whose empire at one point included the Mirage, the Golden Nugget, and Treasure Island. But how did he gain and wield his tremendous power in Nevada? And why did a confidential Scotland Yard report prevent him from opening a casino in London? When this biography, written by a local reporter, was first released in 1995, Steve Wynn brought suit against its original publisher and forced him into bankruptcy. Now available in paperback, the inside story of the biggest phenomenon to roil Las Vegas since Hoover Dam gives readers an intimate glimpse at the real business that's conducted beyond the gaming tables.

How things "really worked" in Las Vegas for Steve Wynn!

Having been in Las Vegas in October 2011 on a "crime scene forensics" learning trip, I heard a lot of history of Las Vegas - the good, the bad and the scary! In discussions about Steve Wynn and his hotels, it was suggested that I pick up "Running Scared" and read about Wynn's life in Las Vegas. I have read a portion of this book so far, and it's quite interesting. My only knowledge of Steve Wynn was that he owned the Golden Nugget and did the catchy TV ads for the Wynn Hotel when it was opening! Although this book was published 10 years ago, if you want to read how things started for Steve and see who and what influenced him, sit down and read "Running Scared". So, read the book! Oh, and you'll love what the author had to do just to get this printed! Enjoy!
