Running with the Buffaloes is one of the best books I have ever read. Not only is it interesting to see what goes on inside a college cross country team, but also everything they have to deal with such as going to class and dealing with other problems with their team. I really enjoyed how this book showed how the team was overcome their struggles and come together as a team to make their season into a success. I would recommend this book to anyone.

one of the best running books not only inspirational but it has a good story and is informative reccomend to all, not just for runners inspirational for life in general to see what the 1998 colorado xc team had to endure emotionally and physically

The book I read is called Running with the Buffaloes. It is about the 1998 Colorado University¿s cross country team. Chris Lear¿s purpose in writing this book was to show the triumphs and letdowns a team faces in a season and in a lifetime. The story shows a lot about life in general. He also wrote this book to show how great the program at Colorado is and how hard they work. The intended audience is probably any runners who are young but this book can be read by anyone who likes running or is interested in it. Chris Lear tells the story himself as he lives and sees the team go through its ups and downs as the season continues. I feel that it is important for him to tell the story because he is always around, and he always knows what is going on in the lives of the runners. He is always recording what is going on and what is in their lives. The book shows triumph and defeat that occur in the season that a team may encounter. It relates to real life because we have triumphs and defeats in our daily life. It is really the real world so it relates a lot. The author successfully writes this book and gets his point across. A book comparable to this one might include Sub 4:00 which is written by Chris Lear also. It is about the quest for the perfect mile. I would recommend this book to any teenager because it shows the hardships of life and how to deal with them. The coach in the book says, ¿Running is like getting up and shooting yourself in the morning¿ '233'. I agree with this quote. Once you get up and actually run it feels great, and it wakes you up in the morning. I think it shows life in the reality of it. I loved the ending even though it didn¿t end how I expected it to. It was very heart felt and strong minded. I would rate this book a 5 out of 5 because of the very interesting storyline and teaches you a lot. It shows a lot about life and I could not stop reading it. In conclusion, I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes running and anyone who wants to learn about it.

This is a great read for all passionate runners and those who wish to be inspired! After being in a running 'rut' for a few weeks, this book reminded me of why I love to run, and what it can do for your body, your soul and your attitude on life. I've started having better workouts and truly ENJOYING it like I used to.

This story is one that all runners should read sometime in their life...the courage these runners endure is shown through this wonderful book...you understand WHY the Buffs EARNED the title that year!
