Overview

The madness of Shishio Makoto may know no bounds, but what of his body? An eleventh-hour revelation suggests a possible weakness, but will the news come in time to help a critically wounded Kenshin, whose own strength is reaching its limit? In this new era of Meiji, it's getting harder and harder to tell the innocents from the outlaws. Perhaps, as Kenshin says, it should be for history to decide which side was right, and which side was wrong. The time for hitokiri such as Kenshin and Shishio has passed; let not the man decide the age...but the age, the man.

Meet the Author

Nobuhiro Watsuki earned international accolades for his first major manga series, Rurouni Kenshin, about a wandering swordsman in Meiji Era Japan. Serialized in Japan's Weekly Shonen Jump from 1994 to 1999, Rurouni Kenshin quickly became a worldwide sensation, inspiring a spin-off short story ("Yahiko no Sakabato"), an animated TV series, and several animated movies. Watsuki's latest series, Buso Renkin, also available in English from VIZ Media, began publication in Weekly Shonen Jump in June 2003.

The Battle really heats up (no pun intended) in the final volume of the battle with Shishio. Not to give too much away, but have you ever seen Kenshin bust out ALL of his moves in a ROW? Unfortunately, four heros walk in (including Aoshi), but only three will walk out. (sniff) The only reason I would almost give it four stars instead is...well, there is at least one part where I had to go 'Huh? But waitasec, he killed that door, why not Shishio's head??' but KENSHIN STILL ROCKS!

Kenshin is down, Sano can't do anything, and Saito comes bursting through the door! Shishio takes Saito and Sano down easy, but then there's still Aoshi to defeat. When even Aoshi hits the dust, Kenshin comes out of his death-like black-out and takes on Shishio. With Kenshin critically wounded and Shishio at his limit, who will prevail? Shishio bursts up in flame, while Kenshin is at death's door. Will he get back to Kauro and company in time for recovery?!
