    A Russell Biography?...Or Russell Filmography?

An interesting journey through Russell's career as an actor. The book gives a brief glimpse into his childhood but mainly focuses on his ambitious drive as an actor and what he had to endure in order to become one of the greatest actors known in cinematic history. It starts off slow but picks up as you read. Don't expect too much detail into his personal life...this book focuses on his experiences as he filmed his movies: what he had to do in order to obtain the role, what he did in order to get into his characters, experiences he had on while on the set of his films, etc. I think each chapter gives too much explanation about each movie he starred in (especially since there is an additional filmography section at the end of the book). This is a great book to read about Russell the actor. However, it is mediocre when it deals with Russell the person. Bottom Line: you can't help but to keep in mind, as you are reading this book, that the biographers wrote it by compiling interviews and information from different news sources as I have heard many of Russell's quotes from television or written interviews.
