As Metallica was then doing, Mustaine accentuates the progressive tendencies of his compositions, producing rhythmically complex, technically challenging thrash suites that he and Friedman burn through with impeccable execution and jaw-dropping skill. Thanks to Mustaine's focus on the music rather than his sometimes clumsy lyrics, Rust in Peace arguably holds up better than any other Megadeth release, even for listeners who think they've outgrown heavy metal. While the whole album is consistently impressive, the obvious highlight is the epic, Eastern-tinged "Hangar 18."

    The Best Megadeth Album!

Really amazing tracks: many riffs, good lyrics. The only bad thing is "Hangar 18's" end which is just instrumental. But "Holy Wars", you can hear the anger that Mustaine has in this track. He is really pissed off! So the other songs! Good heavy metal!

    Simply Awesome

This is simply one of the greatest thrash metal records of all time, and shows in its entirety Megadeth's musical capabilities. Dave Mustaine brings a whole new dimension to rhythm guitar in the likes of 'Holy Wars...The Punishment Due', 'Hangar 18' and 'Five Magics' by showing that there's more to it than just power chords. Both Dave and Marty are at their best here; blazing through solos that will literally blow your mind away. David Ellefson's complex bass compositions and Nick Menza's incredible drumming is just as impressive. If you love great heavy metal, Rust In Peace is definitely a must-have.

Don't let the album title fool you - BEST ALBUM

Don't expect to fully appreciate each song on the first listen, it takes getting used to, but it will grow on you. The guitar solos are complex and powerful. Read the lyrics. This is My favorite Megadeth album, and I've been listening to it for 5 yrs, and haven't been bored with it.
