Meet the Author

Raised in Texas, USA Today bestseller Jaye Wells grew up reading everything she could get her hands on. Her penchant for daydreaming was often noted by frustrated teachers. She embarked on a series of random career paths, including stints working for a motivational speaker and at an art museum. Jaye eventually realized that while she loved writing, she found facts boring. So, she left all that behind to indulge her overactive imagination and make stuff up for a living. Besides writing, she enjoys travel, art, history, and researching weird and arcane subjects. She lives in Texas with her saintly husband and devilish son. Quick and Interesting

This is a quick and easy read. It was engaging and a quick read. It was a bit more of a pat story than Ms Welles's usual work. I'm looking forward to my next read.

    Identity [Chapter two]

Bryan frowns, a little confused why his best friend wasn't talking.
Catherine suddenly jolts up and walks away to the classroom door. She went to turn the knob when she felt a hand grab her arm. She turns around- oh great, it was Rachel.
"Ahem," Rachel says annoyed. "Where the helldo you think YOU'RE going?"
"Lay off, bi<_>tch." Bryan calls, walking over two the two girls.
He grabs Rachel's arm and tugs it away from Cathy.
"This isn't your business."
Rachel snorts and pulls her arm away from Bryan before storming off.
"You okay?" Bryan asks Catherine with concern. "You're really worrying me," he points to Rachel, "usually you don't put up wuith that bullsh<_>it."
Catherine didn't know what to say. How could she not tell her best friend?
"Erm. It's about Mr. Clark. I'll tell you later, because-"
"Mr. Clark?!" Bryan says with more worry. "Is he okay? Catherine tell me now!" He practically yells.
Catherine puts a hand over his mouth.
"Shut the fu<_>ck up! Are you TRYING to get us caught?"
Bryan silences, his worry fading to a pissed off look on his face.
"Fu<_>ck you. I don't know why I figured you'd be a friend for once and tell me what's wrong. Not like you ever do anyways." He grumbles.
Bryan turns quickly and stomps off, his boots hitting the floor with force.
Catherine put a hand on her temple. Why was it so hard for him to understand? She just didn't want to talk there... Oh well. She didn't have time. She spins around and opens the door. She took a deepbreath before stepping out into the hallway.
"It looks deserted." A voice calls.
Cathy quickly turns around to see Mr. Clark.
"Where were you?" Catherine calls. "Why did you leave the classroom?!"
Mr. Clark blinks a few times.
"I had a family issue come up. I'm sorry Miss Janette. But it was urgent."
Catherine sighs in relief.
"So wat was that book you were looking at?"
Mr. Clark smiles.
"What you probably seen me looking at was some 'Top Secret' information. But don't worry. It doesn't involve you at all."
Catherine looks at him in shock. Top Secret? What the hell did that mean? Why did he suddenly change? What was so secret, but yet he could tell it was secret, instead of lying? Surely he wanted her to know..
"Oh cool! Sounds like you're a spy!" Catherine says, just trying to play it off cool.
Mr. Clark slightly laughed and walked over to Cathy. He put an arm around her neck, and leans over, whispering in her ear.
"Maybe I am."
Catherine pulls away from him and looks up in shock.
"Wait. But if you were, why would you tell me?" She says quietly.
Mr. Clark shrugs. "That's for you to find out.. Now how about we let you skip school for a few days? I'll count you as if you were there, and not absent."
Catherine looks even more bewildered.
"That sounds great. But why only me?"
Mr. Clark grins.
"That is for you to find out."
Catherine opens her mouth, definitely in shock now. He made no sense! Mr. Clark suddenly turns away and starts walking towards the classroom.
"See you on Monday!" He calls, before slipping into the classroom and closing the door behind him.
Next res will be next chapter!!!
