The evening breeze ruffled Whitepaw's fur as he stalked the mouse. It had been three moons since he and the other kits had left on an attempt to create a new Clan, and so far, things were going well. Firekit- now Firepaw- had apprenticed all the cats, and prey was coming fast. Now, instead of one meal a day, there was two, and there was usually a vole or two left over after.
Shaking his haunches, Whitepaw quickly advanced on the mouse. With a big leap, he pounced on it. A swift bite to the neck ended it all. Curtly holding the fresh-kill in his mouth, she padded back to the camp.
At the camp, Foxpaw and Firepaw were sharing tongues, eating a shrew as they did so. Whitepaw felt jealousy prickling at his paws. 'That could have been me and Cinderpaw,' he thought bitterly. But his first love had decided to take on the path of a medicine cat, not a warrior. She had already treated his torn pad a quarter moon before, with horsetail sap and cobwebs. StarClan knew how she was learning all these herbs and herb remedies in such a short period of time! Looking around, he slipped into a bush. "Hey, Cinderpaw, I-I fetched you a mouse."
Cinderpaw had made a temporary medicine cat den in a gorse bush nearby. She looked up from her poultice. "Oh. Thanks, but Foxpaw gave me a squirrel this morning."
Whitepaw felt his skin grow hot. 'How did I not know?'
"It's okay, I'll save it for later." Cinderpaw went back to frowning at her poultice, so Whitepaw walked out of the den, his ears flat against his head.
"Hey, Whitepaw!" Firepaw mewed cheerfully. Whitepaw grunted a greeting in return and went to the far side of camp, thinking. He decided to check on Foxpaw and Firepaw. He called to them, "So, uh, did you have a good meal?"
Foxpaw and Firepaw nodded eagerly. "Did you have anyhting to eat?"
Whitepaw shook his head, suddenly realizing how hungry he was.
"Well, you better hurry to get some. There's only a bird left on the pile, and Cinderpaw might be hungry."
"I doubt that," Whitepaw grumbled as he walked the the fresh-kill pile. Firepaw was right- there was only a bird left on the pile. He picked it up and started to tear it apart, avoiding Firepaw's gaze, in case there was bitterness in his eyes from her and Foxpaw's new relationship.
When he was done, Whitepaw looked around. The bird wasn't very filling, and they would need more prey in the morning.
"I'm going hunting," Whitepaw announced.
Firepaw looked up, about to protest, but Foxpaw silenced her with a flick of his tail.
Happy for once with Foxpaw's interference, Whitepaw slipped out of the camp into the forest. He quietly stalked a rabbit with fierce determination. He leapt silently, and the rabbit didn't notice Whitepaw was there until it was too late. Buring his catch under the leaves, Whitepaw went on search for some more freshkill.
Blinking, Whitepaw looked up to see another cat, a gray she-cat, just a tree-length away from him. Anger flooded through him. What was she doing on his territory? Screeching with rage, he leapt on her and bit into her scruff.
The she-cat yowled in pain and rolled over, so Whitepaw got pressed to the ground. Hissing, he kicked up with his hind legs, so she got thrown off him. She landed with a "huff." Despite her tresspassing, Whitepaw felt some pity, and walked over to her. "You okay?"
She sat up, all signs of aggression lost. "My old Clan was destroyed by badgers. I-I need a new one."
Whitepaw softened. "Then… come with me."

"Lilypaw?" Lionblaze asked. A deep gash was cut in her shoulder. Bite marks showed on her legs. Another gash even deeper then the first was in her stomach. "She's alive" a voice assured. He turned to see a familiar ginger she-cat. It looked like Leafpool but she was missing. Lionblaze opened his mouth but closed it quickly."L-Mother?" He asked quietly. "Yes. I'm back" she smiled. Leafpool turned to Lilypaw. Lilypaw's kegs were out awkwadly. A black shaped flashe past. It was another cat. The tom pinned down Leafpool. He slashed her belly creating a small gash. Lionblaze leaped and sared slashing the tom's back over and over. Gashs were bleeding heavily and Lionblaze continued on. The tom turned and clawed his face. Lionblaze slashed the toms face and starting slashing it's stomaach. The tom feebily clawed back. Lionblaze grabbed the tomes forepaw and bit down with his teeth. He continued slashing his stomach. The tom's clawing got weaker and weaker. Lionblaze bit harder and harder until he stopped. The tom fell lifelesly. He was dead. Lionblaaze spotted a ginger tom and attacked him. The tom ended up the same. Lionblaze spotted Dustpelt fighting off a pair of she-cats. They were tabby lght brown. Lionblaze leaped in to help. He grabed ones forepaw and bit down hard. She screeched and slashe his face. "I'll take this one..." Lionblazes voice trailed off. Dustpelt crumbled to the ground. He wasn't dead. Yet. The other she-cat perpared for the death blow. Lionblaze yowled and grabbed he neck wih his jaws. Blood sqiured out and she fell to the ground. He turned and leaped at the other. Lionblaze clamped his jaws around her throat to and bit down hard. He dropped her deadweight and turned to Dustpelt. "Dustpelt?" He asked. "L-lionblaze?" Dustpelt murmured. "Yes?" Lionblaze leaned down to listen. "What do you think Ferncloud would say when I..... I join her" He wondered. "Don't talk like that! Look, here comes Littlecloud" Lionblaze responded. Littlecloud came over and started working on his wounds. "It might be my time" Dustpelt rasped "I always knew I would go down fighting". "It doesn't look so" Lionblaze replied. He knew Dustpelt would make it. "If I do, this would be my last battle. It would be, even if I survived" Dustpelt begun to close his eyes. "He will live!" Littlecloud announced "but he is right, that she-cat maimed him. He will have a limp in his right leg". Lionblaze nodded. "I would advise rejoing the battle" Littlecloud jolted off. Leafpool came holding Lilypaw. She was breathing heavily and doped Lilypaw next to Dustpelt. She fell next to the apprntice. Lionblaze watched as Jayfeather brought Toadstep, Littlecloud brought Tigerheart, and Kestrelflight brough Shrewpaw over to the wounded. How many more to come? Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

Caleb had fallen asleep. I guess whatever he sees in his head isn't that important. A few minutes later, Jonah goes to sleep, too. I yawn and stretch.
"Are you tired?" Finnick asks. I nod. "Okay. Come here." He says, holding out a hand. I take it and sit on his lap like a small child. I'm facing the back of the hovercraft, and Finnick's facing the left side. He puts his arms around me. "We're not going to die, Terran." He whispers. I don't reply. Just lay my head on his shoulder and drift into sleep.
* * * *
"Alright, get up! You all are heading out." Korrin says.
I scramble to my feet, which wakes up Finnick. The others get up, yawning and rubbing their eyes.
"Come on!" Korrin claps his hands, rousing us. He dumps a black backpack in my arms. "That has some food and water. Jackets." He says.
"Wait, exactly how far are we walking?" Kara asks, seeing the supplies.
"I don't know. Miles. Not too far." Korrin says, then opens the hovercraft door. We all hop out, but Korrin stays in.
"Be careful out there, kids. It ain't pretty." He says, and shuts the door. We all stand there and watch the hovercraft fly away and dissappear.
"Okauy, guys, let's move." I say, turning to them.
"We need to get out of here." Caleb says, staring at something. And this time, we can all see it.

Whitenose looked up at Applestar as they ran through the forest. "Why didnt you say it was WindClan? They know." Applestar shook her head, her eyes sparkling sadly. "I couldnt. You know how hard it is to lose a clan leader? Well, getting into a fight after is worse. They dont need that." "True" said Windpaw, catching up with her mento and Whitenose. "Remember when Longstar died? How Brokenfrost, Sweetsong, and Larkpaw got into a fight with Kitepaw, Stormheart, Tidefire, and Longfur over just a peice of land of unmarkeed terretory? I rember how Sweetsong came back coverd in woumnds. No one else was hurt," Windpaw looked at Whitenose. "It wasnt very fun." Whitenose addmitted as they bounded into camp. Foxtail came out for gaurd duty as Whitenose slipped into his nest. Soon he was asleep. When he awoke the next morning, there were screeches outside the warriors den. Padding out from under neath the giant oak, he froze as he saw Brightnose, Featherfur, Rockpelt, and Windpaw fighting Kitesong, Yewclaw, Gorsefoot, and about 4 others. He saw Fawnfire and Applestar battling Blackear and Barkfang. Wait aminute, thats ShadowClan and WindClan! Whitenose bouned to the apperntances den and woke up Speedpaw. "Wha...?" "No time to explain go ask applestar if she wants you to get thunderclan or riverclan" Whitenose told him as more ShadowClan and WindClan cats streamed in SkyClans camp. Whitenose watched Speedpaw set off and sprang into battle. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
