Every girl needs a guardian angel—even if he wears black leather. In the first novel of her scintillating True Brothers MC series, Gillian Archer introduces readers to a sexy-as-sin biker . . . and the woman wild enough to tame him.
After dinner with the most arrogant man in the world, Jessica Miller is shocked when her blind date tries to maul her in the parking lot. Enter “Zag”: the brooding, bruising alpha male who jumps off his motorcycle and teaches the jerk a lesson he won’t forget. After getting one taste of a bad boy who lives on the edge, Jessica’s hooked. Zag’s willing to give her the ride of her life. But she needs to wrap her arms around his powerful chest and hold on—tight.
Zag knows firsthand that the True Brothers MC isn’t for the faint of heart. He only intends to show beautiful, innocent Jessica a few cheap thrills to satisfy her curiosity. But the more he lets her in, the more Zag comes to depend on her gentle touch to help heal the wounds that he’s been denying for so long. Now, a rival gang has set its sights on Jessica, and Zag must step up once again. He just hopes he can go the distance to protect the woman he loves.

A less dark and gritty MC romance that still holds an edge in terms of action and drama highlight Gillian Archer’s new release. Jessica is successful, career oriented and completely unfamiliar with the darker side of life, unless bowing to her mother’s repeated ‘set ups’ count. A bad date with an attempted parking lot mauling result in Jessica being rescued and introduced to Zag, a member of the True Brothers. Tall, dark and handsome with a bad-boy twist, Zag is intriguing and enticing – but Jessica knows the encounter was a one off. These two are very different: he thinks she’s too good for him, and like most of these storylines, she sees the ‘heart of gold’ under the gruff and menacing exterior. OK – I read these, I like that beauty and the beast-like theme, but it’s getting old. Strong silent alpha biker with menacing growl is ONLY understood by the one ‘civilian’ female who is too good for him, but they are thrown together when she is threatened. It’s almost formulaic, and the writing and the relationship, to that point, far outshone the rather overdone plotline – and I could have done without that. Because Jessica and Zag were magnet and iron filings: they were attracted and it only increased when they were together as they worked to feel one another out. Their interactions are priceless, and Zag is not the typical tortured man – he’s thinking their paths are different, he doesn’t see them as a plausible couple BUT he still is willing to take a chance and see where things go without making several lame, halfhearted attempts to push her away. Their dynamic made the romance so much sweeter and more believable, and for me, the other elements went to the background quickly. If you like a darker and gritty story, this is not for you –but for readers more in tune with current contemporary romances this will fit the bill. I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Well, my foray into the MC genre has made something clear: the grittier and darker stories make me uncomfortable and I'm more suited to MC-lite romances. Unfortunately, the only way I can determine which ones are of the lite variety is to read them. But I digress. Don't you just hate when people around you (hint: your mom) keep going on and on about your single status, how you're not getting any younger and need to settle down and start a family? I know I hated it when I was single and it's still a hot button for me to this day. Like dating isn't already hard enough, especially for women. Poor Jessica Miller had to contend with that and in order to keep the peace with her mom, she decides to take her up on the offer to set her up on a blind date with nice young man. Bad idea! Said nice young man turns out to be not so nice when he sticks her with the bill after ordering up the priciest items on the menu. As if that wasn't bad enough, turns out he's also an octopus with wandering hands and won't take no for an answer. What a prize. Not. What do you know? The biker that everyone would warn her away from is the one who comes to her rescue and actually behaves like a gentleman, but also gives her the hottest sex of her life. But Zag is from a different world and she can't see them going beyond the one night. Well, Zag doesn't agree with her and shows her why one night is not enough. With the mind-blowing orgasms comes the dark, illicit dealings of Zag's world and when Jessica is endangered by one of his biker brothers, Zag is determined to keep her safe even against her will. Will they be able to walk away from each other after the danger is gone? This book was sweeter than I expected and I love that both Zag and Jessica didn't focus on their differences, but dug deep to find the best in each other. I had a blast reading this book because there were so many hilarious moments. RUTHLESS is a reminder that love comes in all forms and not to reject the best thing that could happen to you because it doesn't come in the expected packaging. I really enjoyed it and I'll definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys biker romances but without the darkness and grit. Disclaimer: I received this book for free from the Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

This steamy romance hits all the tropes of the genre. Good girl meets bad boy, they are from two different worlds and yet they fall in lust. Zag (yeah, that’s really his name) rescues Jessica from a really creepy loser of a blind date and it’s on. Both Jessica and Zag are emotionally stunted and therefore really don’t talk with each other much. Their best communication is horizontal. In fact, the dialogue through most of the novel is weak. It’s a lot of narrative and both characters spend too much time in their own heads. I almost didn’t make it past the first chapter; after Zag rescues Jessica from Creepy Loser, they hop on his bike. Jessica is in heels and he takes them off and stuffs them in the saddlebags, leaving her barefoot. What?!? Are you kidding me? On a motorcycle near hot tailpipes and other road debris— it just wouldn’t happen, especially with someone who rides often. Unless they don’t value their feet and ankles. Some dangerous situations occur (no spoilers) and through a crisis, our lovebirds realize that they do love one another, and wedding bells ring. This is a quick read, best done by the pool with a cocktail or two at hand. Reviewed as an ARC

This novel is intense and hard hitting, yet still ends with an ‘awww’ moment. Archer combines the best of real romance with characters that don’t necessarily fit the norm in a manner that left me reeling, in a good way. Archer makes danger both sexy and scary, cranking up the heat at times and the suspense at others for a package that is definitely well worth reading. The distinction between gunrunning and drug dealing gangs and this MC was an important aspect of this novel, without detracting from the dangerous nature of the club members. Archer has created a cast of characters that are raw and real. The intensity with which they live their lives flows through the entire story. The reactive nature of these characters shows itself in a myriad of ways. Their intensity shines through in the way that they live, the way that they love, the way that they defend their own. I fell in love with both of these main characters in very different ways. Zag’s intensity and air of danger, combined with his endless caring and worry created a paradox that made me melt. Jessica’s muddle-headedness made her priceless. I really enjoyed how we were given both main characters’ POVs at various points in time without a huge distinction or a break in flow. Archer simply made sure that readers knew what was on both of her characters’ minds. I couldn’t put it down! This is a new to me author who will definitely be going on my watch list. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

I love MC books and this one did not disappoint. Gillian Archer wrote a great story in Zag and Jessica. Still gritty, throughout the story Zag was shown with sweetness and caring for Jess and others hidden beneath his rough exterior and bad boy ways. Zag's upbringing was horrible until "True Brothers" MC club took him in. Jessica grew up completely opposite with a loving family and her friends since grade school. Jess's name "Princess", given to her by Zag, was indicative of how he felt about her and the care he took with her. The story caught me from page one and was both fast paced with great detail given to both characters and their friends and "family". A well fleshed out story of love and HEA, "Ruthless" is a wonderful story when opposites attract. If you love biker stories, I highly recommend this one! Thank You to NetGalley and Loveswept for gifting me with an ARC and only asking for an honest review. Wonderful read! 4.5 Stars!

Ruthless is a great read. The MC members aren't disrespectful to women as in many other MC books but the feeling of brotherhood is still there. I like that Jessica is no shrinking violet and that Zag is a tough guy with a big heart. This romance has it all - great writing, action, and steamy sex. I loved this story and am looking forward to more books in this series.

Jessica and Zag meet when he rescues her from the clutches of a blind date her mother set her up on. Zag shows no interest in Jessica but she pursues him even though she questions herself. Throughout most of the book I had a hard time believing she was 28 and not 18. She surrounded herself with friends who acted more like martyrs and allowed her mother to guilt her into going on dates with people she never met and attending family barbecues to appease her. Zag shows almost no interest in Jessica other than booty calls and yet she falls for it almost every time. When she tries to ask a personal question he shuts down and she backs off. Frustrating to say the least. When Jessica learns startling news she keeps it to herself, even though she knows she should tell him which was ridiculous how long she dragged it out. The ending was nice but I needed more of a connection between them after the whole truth comes out. Professing each other's love does not magically cure relationship problems.

Jessica’s mom always set her up with someone. This time it had been Charlie and all he did was talk about himself . He ordered their dinner of fish and Jessica didn’t like fish. As he drank more and more wine his claims became more outrageous and Jessica felt like like poking a fork in her eye. Then she ended up paying the bill as Charlie forgot his wallet and after he walked her to the car he tried to attack her. Then Charlie was pulled away . Jessica offered to buy her rescuer a drink and he flat out told her no. But then he changed his mind then she realized he was a biker but had always wanted to be with a bad boy just hadn’t the nerve to approach one. Zag was a member of the True Brothers MC. Now Jess had a one night stand with a bad boy and woke up alone, she assumed that was it. But Jessica was wrong. I absolutely loved this story a nice change on a MC story. It had a little of everything: good girl meets bad boy , club the only family, abuse as a child, the closeness in the MC , a bad biker , drugs a statement, threats, a shooting, one in the hospital, a pregnancy, best friends, a baby, etc, etc, and etc. I also loved the characters especially all the twists and turns and more twists they went through. I highly recommend. I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.

Jessica's night from hell turned into a ride of her life. Zag is in the right place at the right time and finds a woman who makes him think and want things he never thought he would. Secrets keep a wall between them until danger strikes. I loved how Jessica wanted to stay safe but followed her instincts despite what others around her might think. Zag learned how to open up and his past tugged at my heart. I recommend this story.

Jessica Miller never thought her Knight and Shining Armor would wear a leather vest and ride a Harley. Zag swoops in to save Jess from her blind date disaster. in return thanking her savior with a drink and what should have been a one night stands turns into more than either of them ever bargained for and they wouldn't want it any other way!

Hot biker hero and a hard working American girl get together, and the sparks fly! The plot is interesting, with nods to Twilight, SOA and Fifty, with Zag as a dominant, no nonsense guy, and Jessica, a good girl who revels in his naughtiness. As usual, communication is lacking between the two, which leads to a lot of internal monologues that would do a bit better with some action. I did dislike that in the beg of the 'September' chapter, it felt like I was reading through Swiss cheese- there was missing information with small non-descript flashbacks to events that didn't occur in real time and seemed made up. I felt a bit cheated, and the story felt rushed at that point. In all though, a good happily ever after with a hot, bad boy vibe. *I received an arc from NetGalley for an honest review

This is the story of opposites not only attract but explode in passion when Zag comes to Jessica's rescue. Again when Jessica is threatened by a True Brother who is committing a crime and Zag again protects Jessica. This story brought together characters who both needed each other for different reasons but watching the love grow was fantastic. The characters, including the secondary characters, are all well written and this series shows great promise. I recommend this book and I am looking forward to the next in the series. **Received this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review**

I enjoyed this. To be a good MC book, you need to be able to both like the main character and find him just a little bit intimidating. Zag has both...partly, in my opinion, due to the sheer normal, not tough guy, real name that he has...which I will not spoil here. Jessica is the perfect mix of a woman brave enough to be with a member of a MC and someone who is just slightly horrified by the whole "my boyfriend might be a felon" issue. Again, that's all I am saying on this, read the book. Part of the fun, and the reason that I like MC books is that they break a lot of the rules of a normal romance novel...and, in that, they are harder to review as in a more traditional romance novel there are certain events that are not a this, I just feel like it will be too much of a spoiler. What I can say is that the characters felt real, they responded and spoke like real people. The writing was excellent, and the book was enjoyable. ***ARC Provided by the Publisher and NetGalley***

Good start to a new series. I loved the chemistry between Jessica and Zag. The bad boy white night swoops in and saves her. Zag is a member of a motorcycle club, which I admit I would have liked to know more about. Jessica is the good girl he rescues, when she offers to buy him a drink, sparks fly. However when Jessica is targeted by a rival gang Zag knows exactly what to do to keep her safe. Overall it was a good read and I look forward to reading the next in the series.

A Great Start to a New Series. I was super excited when I got this book through NetGalley in exchange for a review, which I am happy to provide, and I immediately got started. I liked all the characters and especially the inner dialog of our heroin, and it had a good plot line. Of course there was plenty of action and some very steamy romance and plenty of hot bikers. As usual I read way passed my bedtime, I just needed to find out how it would all end, a good start to a new series and I can't wait for the next book to come out. Gillian Archer has a new Fan in me.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book! Gillian Archer is a "new to me" author. So, I didn't know what to expect. I love finding new authors! This book, I thought, started out strong but not so much as it went on. I enjoyed it, but it lacked a little, for me. Jessica is on a blind date and the jerk decides to maul her in the parking lot. Zag jumps off his motorcycle and saves her. Can two people from opposite spectrums of lifestyle make it work? You'll have to read this book and find out!!

I received from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Be prepared to be claimed. If Jessica is set up on a blind date by her mom one more time it'd be to soon. After a very disappointing date she wants nothing more than to go home....alone. When the date wants for more Jessica panics and is soon saved by a stranger. Her knight in shinning armor turns into a knight in shinning leather known as Zag, member of the True Brothers MC. Feeling safe and not yet wanting to be alone she talks him into a drink which leads to a ride on his bike and more. After Jessica witnesses something she shouldn't have Zag claims her as his own to gain her protection. The more time spent with Zag the more Jessica views his life with the club. A surprise has Jessica questions where their relationship is going. The threat to Jessica soon reaches its head. As life hangs in the balance Jessica and Zag are determined to grab onto their future.
