Overview

A sharing of the collective experience of how S-Anon members have put the principles of the 12 Steps into practice. S-Anon Twelve Steps offers hope for recovery to people whose lives have been or are being affected by the sexaholism of a spouse, parent, child, other relative, friend, or acquaintance.

This book outlines each of the 12 Steps of S-Anon and includes Step descriptions, member stories, and specific ways members have worked through some of their recovery issues. Each chapter also has questions suitable for individual writing and reflection or discussion with others.

We have found that by applying the spiritual principles of the 12 Steps to our lives, we are able to be happy and productive, whether or not the sexaholic chooses recovery.

Note: The S-Anon International Family Groups are a worldwide fellowship of the relatives and friends of sexually addicted people. S-Anon is a 12 Step program based on the 12 Steps and the 12 Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous. Find this eBook and additional literature in print version at www.sanon.org.

About the Author

The S-Anon International Family Groups are a worldwide fellowship of the relatives and friends of sexually addicted people. S-Anon is a 12 Step program based on the 12 Steps and the 12 Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous.

S-Anon Family Groups are for those who are hurting in response to the sexual addiction of someone close to them. It does not matter whether that person is a family member, a partner, spouse, child, or someone outside the family like a friend, teacher, or boss. Sexaholism can affect anyone.

S-Anon is for people of all sexual orientations, genders, denominations, and races, those in a relationship or not, parents, children, relatives, friends and others whose lives have been affected by another person’s sexual behavior. The only requirement for S-Anon membership is a problem of sexaholism in a family member or friend.

We have found that attending S-Anon meetings regularly is a vital part of the S-Anon Program. S-Anon groups meet weekly as a way for members to share their experience, strength, and hope. Our meetings are free to attend and are not allied with any particular religion or organization. Meeting information can be found at www.sanon.org.

S-Anon literature represents the S-Anon point of view regarding our recovery and the effects of another person’s sex addiction. Our literature is written by S-Anon members and offers our common experience about recovery from the family disease of sex addiction. Our literature, including S-Anon Twelve Steps and Working the S-Anon Program, can be purchased from our online store at www.sanon.org.

Additional information about S-Anon can be found at www.sanon.org.

Note: There is also S-Ateen, a Twelve Step recovery program for young people ages 12-19 who have been affected by the sexual behavior of someone close to them. More information about S-Ateen can be found at www.sanon.org/teen-newcomers.
