    Must have for STALKER fans

Although the viewpoint is difficult to adjust too at first (third person present tense), its well worth the effort.

This book does an amazing job of emulating the atmosphere of the STALKER games. At 462 pages it is a hefty book, but not a single page is fluff or filler. The author doesn't bother wasting our time with 30 pages of exposition on a boring walk through the woods or a truck ride through a featureless wasteland, he cuts right to what is important. At the same time, you don't feel like you're missing anything, the environment is given all the description it so very much deserves and the action is easy to follow.

A few translation errors are the only thing marring its perfection. But even in this it emulates the STALKER games it celebrates, but at a more tolerable level.

Although some may take issue with the political and philosophical views of the characters within, one must remember that these are societies outcasts, men who did not fit into normal society and so were driven too, or happily ran too, the New Zone.
