Sabrina [Original Soundtrack]
Sydney Pollack's 1995 remake of the classic romantic comedy Sabrina may have proven a commercial and critical failure, but John Williams' charming score boasts an intimacy and refinement that beautifully complement the film's nouveau riche ambience. Drawing upon Williams' formative experiences as a jazz pianist, Sabrina eschews the widescreen theatrics of his most famous scores in favor of tuxedo-tailed sophistication. The music is feather-light and profoundly romantic, painstakingly evoking the sound and spirit of golden-age Hollywood. Only Sting's banal performance of Williams' "Moonlight" breaks the music's spell.

Along with Accidental Tourist, this is Williams' finest score (outside of the familiar space'n'action zone). A must for any score collector.
Beautifully romantic and relaxing, great for a bubble bath.
An excellent combination, ''Sabrina'' provides soft and easy listening through a combination of instumentals and singing. It's a great CD to add to your collection!
Jason Ankeny got it almost right ~ along with the rest of Hollywood. I agree that the romantic musical ensemble of John Williams' work is soothing and provocative all at once. But I wholeheartedly disagree with the comment about Sting's performance on the Moonlight track ~ this was a perfect combination of ingenious classical/jazz scoring and contemporary touches (Sting's voice). Hollywood missed the boat ~ at least in this version of the story, Sabrina isn't in COOKING CLASSES and Linus isn't some old cigar-chompin' good ol' boy. It was nice to see new life breathed into what was a "dying story". This is one instance where the re-make film was far better than the original. With all due respects to Audrey Hepburn fans, Julia Ormond finally did Sabrina Fair some justice.
