Sophie Freeman awoke from a deep sleep last night, terrified by a dream she can't recall. Unknown to her, the dream pulled a thread from the tight, rule-obedient fabric of her existence and the unraveling of her life began. Today, she's on her way to Yaupon Beach for what she expects will be another ordinary two-week vacation, when she sees a man walking alone on the side of the road. Compelled by an irrational curiosity, she stops and offers the stranger a ride. The stranger is Walking Man, a Native American wandering shaman, who immediately asks, "Do you remember me?" For the first time in her life, Sophie doesn't analyze the consequences of her reply. "Yes," she answers... and he slides in beside her. Walking Man takes Sophie on a journey into the dream we call reality. In the past she finds the future; in the future she finds the past... and the terrifying secret they conceal.

This is by far the best book of this nature I have ever read. It is intriguing and allows one to open their mind to a place and a fantasy that most people dare not go. This book may be offensive to some because it is so well constructed it may be interpreted as real. Definitely worth the read!

Sacred Illusions: A Journey Into The Dreams You Live R.D. Valenti PublishAmerica ISBN: 1-4137-6738-9 Spirituality and Religion Sophie Freeman has been searching for something her whole life. She has read every self-help and spiritual book she can get her hands on in hopes of finding that lost piece that will complete the puzzle of her life. Instead of the missing link, however, Sophie just finds more questions, more frustration, and more unhappiness. Then a strange event occurs. While on her way to the beach for her annual vacation, Sophie picks up a Native American man. Sophie feels a strange connection to this man who she calls Walking Man, almost as if she has seen him before and she was destined to meet and talk with the man. This mysterious shaman guides Sophie on the most amazing journey as she learns a new way to listen, a new way to question, and a new way to interpret the world around her. Sacred Illusions: A Journey Into The Dreams You Live encourages the reader to look at his or her world in a new light. My favourite part of the book is a scene in which Walking man tells Sophie that she hasn¿t been seeking a missing piece of her life puzzle at all. Instead, her puzzle has extra pieces that mask the real picture. Therefore, her quest is to find these distorting pieces and dispel them.

Excellent and intelligiently written. This book takes the common subject of creation and sheds a new, logical light upon it wrapped up within an intriguing story line! If you find hard to swallow the ape-to-man evolution theory of scientists or the forbidden apple and snake story of the religious sector, as fact - you will LOVE the exciting possibilities this book sparks!
