This delightful little book is a collection of "Notes from a Monastery" published by Abbey Press (under their Path of Life imprint). Br. Francis de Sales, the editor, has brought together some of the most significant voices in Benedictine spirituality as well as some new voices representing monks, nuns, and oblates. This book has been a great resource for my own private prayer and reflection. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to cultivate the spirit of St. Benedict in their own life.
I found the essays by Sr. Joan Chittester, "Searching for Balance," and the introduction by Archabbot Justin DuVall (from St. Meinrad Archabbey) to really capture St. Benedict's values of simplicity, dedication, and commitment.
