    more from this reviewer

    slower then usual..

I have read the previous two books, and this one was a lot hard to get into. The beginning started very slow, with not much happening. After about 100 pages in, you get back to the real Ebersol family, and everything they go through. The book had a lot more heartbreak then The Covenant and The Betrayal. Be prepared incase your heart break a little. I like that this book came off of Leah being the main character and went into Hannah and Mary Ruth, they belong to the family and we should be able to see them too. THE SACRIFICE opens your eyes to what real Amish families go though. Nothing is always hunky dory, and they do have hardships that come up. This is a great series to read and enjoy.

Sacrifice is no sacrifice to read

I love Beverly Lewis books and I think I have read every one. I did think this one was a little slow getting started. This whole series otherwise has had me on the edge of my seat. I can't wait to read Revelation which I just ordered.

I loved this book. I stayed up until 2:40 in the morning so that I could finish it. The storyline is awesome and the characters seem so real! I don't know how many times I cried like it was me in the story. I would definitely recommend this book to anybody.

    A wonderful summer book

I loved this book. I just finished Betrayal and ran right out and got The Sacrifice. I couldn't put it down. It is one of those wonderful books that a reader dreams about. The characters come alive and I really cared about each one .I loved the drama and story.I carried this book around with me everywhere to catch a chance to read and yet I didn't want to come to the last page.Read these books in order. They are a rare find.

HOW WONDERFUL TO BE AT HOME WITH THE EBERSOL FAMILY

I awaited this third episode of Abram's Daughters with such anticipation and was not disappointed in the least. It was like being back with 'my' family again - a family with its cozy kitchens, tasty homemade foods, chatting with loving friends. For a 21st century lady, I praise Ms. Lewis' ability to take us back to a simpler, however highly structed, time where characters so vividly penetrate our minds and hearts. CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK! (And, PLEASE do not stop there).

    Great Series

This is a wonderful book - great characters, it makes you laugh and cry and leaves you anxiously awaiting the next book. You absolutely MUST read the first two books before you read this. They are all great - but in order to follow the story line - must be read in order.

    a bit confusing...but still GREAT.

Still a great book, but it seemed there were some conflicts about the birth of Sadie's baby. Maybe there is a surprise in store for the next book. I also thought this was going to be a trilogy, yet there is a book 4 coming out. The ending was a surprise to me, also. All in all, a great book.

    Another great book

My heart goes out to many of these characters, but especially to Leah. I have to find out what happens to this family! Another great book!

The problem with the e-book's version of the first book in the series (The Covenant) , where there is no space between paragraphs that have a change in characters or location, has returned after being corrected in book #2.

*** beware of a giant plot-spoiler in one of these reviews!!! ***

I found this book to be one long, ongoing depressing tome. If you like to read to be entertained and uplifted, and to escape life’s troubles and difficulties for a while, this is NOT the book to read.

    I love Beverly Lewis !!!!!

I read the Abrams Daughters series in about a week, I just couldn't stop reading them, when I finished one I would start the next one. I have read almost all of her books and have never been disappointed. She has a way of making the characters so real and they pull you into thier lives and you have to keep reading to find out what happens next.
    I highly recommend her books.

    Great

I couldn't put it down. I was a bit depressed at the end, with the cliffhanger and all, but it really was a good book. The cliffhangers are really starting to annoy me, though. Very frustrating.

    The Best

As I read, it was sad to see Leah mother pass on after giving birth to a son. The promise she gave her mother, to raise the children and then losing Gid for a husband. But than Leah gain him as a brother through the marriage of her sister Hannah. For Sadie, she has lost a husband, repented and back home with her family at long last.
