This book was great! Could not stop reading it. Each chapter like a new episode of a series. Gave it to my wife, she loves it too. I hope there is more to come from Mr. Harris and the James Hahn saga.
There's a whole lot to love about this book, but the one thing that I am a huge fan of is attention to detail. I like to feel that I'm not so much reading paper filled with words, but watching the events unfold like a movie set in my brain and the author does this almost flawlessly. This book has plenty of detail, and it doesn't at all slow the story down or seem flat at any point. Now about the story itself. The plot is complex and full of twists and turns and is told from the point of view of the main protagonist, James Hahn. As I said before about detail, the author provides plenty not just in the way of scenery, but also with what's going in the story. However, he always makes sure you don't ever know completely what's happening until the very end. And for those that like to read the last few chapters to try and find out how it ends, you'll only be confused and want to read it from the beginning to reveal the rest of the story. The characters in the book are all complex and interesting and they develop nicely as the story progresses. It's fast paced and the chapters fly by as you read. Before you know it, you're at the end, feeling satisfied and wanting more at the same time. It's definitely a great read that'll make you think and maybe even give you chills. Even though the book involves supernatural occurrences and a good vs. evil type of struggle, it never seems preachy or tries to overstep the bounds of being a novel and being a guide book to life. It's a story, plain and simple. And a great one at that. I can absolutely guarantee that you won't be disappointed with this book.
