Overview

From bestselling author Kathleen Y’Barbo comes Sadie’s Secret, the third book in The Secret Lives of Will Tucker series. These historical novels capture the romance of the South mingled with adventure and laced with secret identities and hidden agendas.

Louisiana, 1890—Sarah Louise “Sadie” Callum is a master of disguise, mostly due to her training as a Pinkerton agent but also from evading overprotective brothers as she grew up. When she takes on a new assignment with international connections, she has no idea her new cover will lead her on the adventure of a lifetime.

Undercover agent William Jefferson Tucker is not looking for marriage—pretend or otherwise—but his past is a secret, his twin brother has stolen his present, and his future is in the hands of the lovely Sadie Callum. Without her connections to the world of upper-crust New Orleans, Jefferson might never find a way to clear his name and solve the art forgery case that has eluded him for years.

Only God can help these two secret agents find a way to solve their case and uncover the truth about what is going on in their hearts.

In this third book of the Southern historical series (Flora's Wish; Millie's Treasure), Pinkerton agent Sadie Callum's new assignment brings her in contact with Det. William Jefferson Tucker of the London Metropolitan Police, who is fighting his wrongful imprisonment in place of his twin. She has no idea that this encounter will be rife with international intrigue and hidden identities more secret than her own. Slowly Sadie realizes that Tucker is more than just a case for her; he has worked his way into her heart. As the tension builds, Sadie and Tucker must battle a host of issues including trusting each other and finding peace within themselves. VERDICT Y'Barbo wonderfully re-creates Southern life in the 1890s. Her intricate plot highlighting the adventurous lives of Pinkerton agents will keep her fans enthralled. Readers who enjoy their historical fiction with a bit of romantic suspense will also be hooked.

Kathleen Y’Barbo in her new book, “Sadie’s Secret” Book Three in The Secret Lives of Will Tucker series published by Harvest House Publishers takes us into the life of Sarah Louise “Sadie” Callum. From the back cover:  Two men, one a hero and one a villain–Only a secret agent can tell the difference Louisiana, 1890–Sarah Louise “Sadie” Callum is a master of disguise, mostly due to her training as a Pinkerton agent but also from evading overprotective brothers as she grew up. When she takes on a new assignment with international connections, she has no idea her new cover will lead her on the adventure of a lifetime. Undercover agent William Jefferson Tucker is not looking for marriage–pretend or otherwise–but his past is a secret, his twin brother has stolen his present, and his future is in the hands of the lovely Sadie Callum. Without her connections to the world of upper-crust New Orleans, Jefferson might never find a way to clear his name and solve the art forgery case that has eluded him for years. Only God can help these two secret agents find a way to solve their case and uncover the truth about what is going on in their hearts. William John Tucker is a swindler, a cad and an all-around bad guy. His twin brother, William Jefferson Tucker is a London detective. It is amazing that these brothers work on both sides of the law. Because they are twins John can get Jeff in lots of trouble which is how it begins as Jeff is placed in the cell occupied by John and John is let go. Then it ramps up from there. Sadie is a Pinkerton agent given an art forgery case. How Jeff and Sadie come together to join forces to break this case is the hum of the story. And “Sadie’s Secret” really hums along at a remarkable pace. How John is involved just makes this story even more exciting. “Sadie’s Secret” is quite a story.  It has everything:  a lady detective, twins on either side of the law and art forgery.  And it is a romance too.  This book is a lot of fun and it entertains you as you keep flipping pages as you try to find out what is going to happen next.  Ms. Y’Barbo has a great way of telling the story and moving it along at a nice pace.  Her characters are wonderful and she gives them life and unique voices.  A really enjoyable read. Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from Harvest House Publishers.   I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. Will the notorious Will Tucker ever be captured? As we have followed his elusive trail from the beginning, it all reaches a breaking point in Sadie's Secret, the third and final novel in The Secret Lives of Will Tucker Series. We pick up with Sarah Louise Callum, whom her family fondly calls "Sadie" as she is about to be assigned her biggest case ever as a Pinkerton detective. Not exactly the model agent with her being a female but each of her successes have established her as a true professional. Now if only she could find a way to tell her family, who believes she has been accompanying her Uncle in his travels while working as a Pinkerton. To say that her family is a bit overprotective is an understatement. There only goal in life for Sadie is to find a suitable husband and settle down to begin a family. But she has other plans. British Detective William Jefferson Tucker has made a promise to his mother to stop by and check on the welfare of his twin brother, William John Tucker. Just when he felt everything was going along as planned, his twin and a guard in the prison make arrangements for Jefferson to finish out the term of John's prison sentence. Something he believes Jefferson can handle much better than he can. So while an innocent man is in prison for crimes he didn't commit, his twin brother is assuming his life outside the prison walls. Only one person will be able to save him from a fate worse than death, but will she be willing to do it? Sadie is the only one who is able to figure out the subtle differences between Jefferson and John Tucker with the slight variation of colors to their eyes, something a woman has no problem noticing. She has been tasked with finding a way to convince a judge that they are holding the wrong man, getting him released from prison and escorting him to town until another Pinkerton agent can meet her to take over. They believe only Jefferson can lead them straight to John. But even thought they may look alike, they are far from being different. Jefferson has no idea just where John would be headed and he can only hope someone else finds him before he does. I received Sadie's Secret by Kathleen Y'Barbo compliments of Harvest House Publishers for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation for a favorable review and the opinions expressed in this review are strictly my own. I have thoroughly enjoyed each addition to this series and think Kathleen has nailed it with the conclusion. It is great to see some of the previous characters in the series make an appearance in this one and love the way it is all resolved in the end. Truly a historical return of the prodigal son and well worth 5 out of 5 stars. If you love historical romances with strong female characters, you will want to pick up this series from Kathleen Y'Barbo.

In this book, Pinkerton Agent, Sadie Callum has to decide whether the right twin brother is in jail. From there, she has to untangle the threads to find the real Will Tucker, all the while keeping her overprotective family at bay. Sadie is this delightful mix of a fun character who has spunk, verve, and a desire to honor her family while avoiding stifling. It's an almost impossible balancing act, but such a fun read. The romance is sweet and delightful. And the redemption of Will Tucker almost brought me to tears. All in all a very satisfying conclusion to this fun historical mystery/romance series

Sadie's Secret by Kathleen Y'Barbo The Secret Lives of Will Tucker Series Book 3 Sadie Callum is a Pinkerton agent. Not an easy thing to be when you have five protective brothers following you around when you are on the job, and parents who want their only daughter safely home on the Callum Plantation. And her latest assignment? Watching over the handsome man she just helped get released from prison. William Jefferson Tucker just lost a year of his life because of his identical twin brother, William John Tucker, yeah, their father gave them the same first names, only thinks of himself. Where Jefferson is law-abiding and in fact works for what is now known as Scotland Yard, his brother lives the life of the very characters he must put away. This book was full of adventure, some humor, mystery and of course…romance. The previous books have different Pinkerton agents on the job. The story starts with a short free read Miss Merriweather’s Marriage then Flora’s Wish and Millie’s Treasure. If you enjoy series where you know all the background, you’ll want to start from the beginning.

A fabulous ending to an exceptionally fun series! The Secret Lives Of Will Tucker Series takes you on an adventure through the South full of secret identities, romance and humour.  The Pinkertons are on the tail of a heartbreaking con man, Wil Tucker. He romances unsuspecting victims, steals from them and disappears, and he must be stopped. He's slipped through the fingers of some of the best Pinkerton Agents, and now it's up to his twin brother, currently employed with Scotland Yard, to work with the latest Pinkerton agent on the case, Sadie Callum, to track down and capture his elusive brother. This fast paced story is a lot of fun. This was the best of the three books. They can be read individually without much difficulty following the storyline, and whether you are able to read one or all three, it's definitely worth it. This book was provided to me by Harvest House Publishers for the purpose of an honest review. My opinion is my own. Thank you Harvest House!

Reviewed by Joy Hannabass for Readers' Favorite Sadie’s Secret is the third book in Kathleen Y’Barbo’s The Secret Lives of Will Tucker series, and as with the first two books, this one is filled with southern romance secret identities and hidden agendas! Will Tucker is on the run again and taking things that don’t belong to him, again. This time, he takes the identity and future of his twin brother Jefferson, leaving Jefferson in jail for his crimes. Being a Pinkerton agent and master of disguise, Sadie Callum is assigned this case, helping Jefferson find his twin brother so Will can serve time for his crimes, and clearing Jefferson’s name. This takes Sadie on the most exciting journey of her life, with disguises, secrets, and we can forget the romance! Another excellent story that I adore from Kathleen Y’Barbo! Sadie’s Secret has a fast pace and is full of so much adventure and excitement, and Jefferson and Sadie were always getting themselves into something different. I loved that the sweet attraction was growing between the two of them, even though they didn’t think it would happen. Sadie’s Secret overflows with details that I loved! Ms. Y’Barbo sure did an amazing job of research for this book, writing it into the plot in a way that you see and feel the sights and sounds of the people and the way they lived in Louisiana in the 1890s. This is really an awesome, exciting, and interesting read, and if you enjoy historical fiction, this is a must. I highly recommend Sadie's Secret. And don’t forget to check out the first two books in this series as well!
