    Best Book on Topic By Expert on Backgrond Checks and Employment Screening

    As an HR professional, I spend a great deal of time worried about who we are really hiring. The author, Lester Rosen, is obviously an expert on employment screening and background checks, and he has written to what amounts to an encyclopedia on the topic. This book has essentially become the bible for the employment screening, and is clearly the best book for HR professionals and recruiters to understand all aspect of how to avoid hiring problems. It covers a wide variety of area. Of special interest for me were the chapters on employment applications, interviewing and contacting past employers. However, there is also information on legal compliance, privacy, the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the real story behind finding and using criminal records. In addition, I have used other chapters on drug testing, workplace violence and international background checks. There are sample policies and hard to find EEOC notices. This is the book that anyone involved in making hiring decision must have.
