Overview

For as long as she could remember, Becca dreamed of a dominant man to take her in hand, and Zac, the handsome Marine she met at her sister's wedding, filled the role with aplomb… for a weekend. Then the fling came to an end, Zac went off to war and died for his country, and Becca learned she carried a child who would be born without a father.

Seven years later, Becca has done her best to move on and forget about Zac… until the day she walks into her kitchen to find the man she believed she would never see again locked in mortal combat with her son’s nanny, and realizes everything she thought she knew about Zac was a lie.

Like all Black Ops agents, Zac doesn't exist in any government record. His life is a series of deadly missions, and relationships of any kind are unsanctioned. But he keeps one secret. He watches over Becca, the beautiful daughter of a rogue agent, and Parker, the six-year-old boy he fathered that fateful weekend. When he spots a known assassin in their apartment posing as a nanny, he's forced to reveal himself and take them to safety… whether Becca likes it or not.

While Becca may have enjoyed his dominance once, bending her to his will again may not be quite so easy. He is determined to keep her safe, however, and if a long, hard spanking is required, he is more than willing to oblige. Having Becca over his knee rekindles more than his passion, though; even when the immediate danger has passed, he finds it much more difficult to “ghost out” on his family again. Must he resign himself to protecting those he loves from afar, or can he find a way to be the man Becca needs and longs for, the man who is worthy of her submission and her love?

This was a terrific read! The story line is interesting, in that there is a lot of intrigue. You are never quite sure who is a good guy and who is a bad guy. The author really keeps you guessing throughout the whole story. The main characters are Becca and Zach. Becca is a strong woman and a single mother because she is told that Zach was killed in the course of duty. Six years later he turns up alive. What a shock for Becca! Zach’s nickname is Ghost which tells the reader that he is not often seen. Zach has been monitoring Becca and Parker’s life while they believe that he is dead. He discovers that Becca is really into reading about spanking and dominant men. Zach uses this knowledge to be dominant and spank Becca when he feels she needs it. One thing that I found very interesting was that Parker (the son) seemed to have some kind of psychic connection with Zach, even before they knew that Zach was alive. I definitely recommend this story. * An advance Reader Copy of this book was provided to me from the publisher.

4.I received this book from Netgalley and Stormy Night Publications in exchange for an honest review.

Well heck. I can't even say why but I LOVED this book. It's a refreshing break from the normal BDSM romance and is centered on delicious SPANKING. Whew, it's hot in here!

Zac is in the Black Ops and he meets Becca while on a mission. They share one fabulously kinky weekend together and he has to leave. She finds out she's pregnant but when she tries to notify him, she is told that he was killed. Then seven years later, they are reunited in her kitchen, where she sees Zac in mortal combat with her live-in nanny. Zac knows he has to protect his family and isn't able to walk away from them a second time.

I loved loved loved them. I can't say why specifically but something about this story just made me smile and kept me happy. Zac is so stinky sexy... kinda stalkerish but even that turned me on. And Becca is sweet and funny. I loved it. It's a short, entertaining, fun, sweet, easy read that keeps you guessing.

I just plum liked it, what can I say? 4.5 Stars

    I wanted to like it

It was just an okay book for me. I liked the main characters but felt they needed more depth. Some of the plot was just to far fetched and seemed to detract from the story. The ending seemed like an after thought that was tossed in there and seemed rushed. Its not a bad book and I did want to like it but it just didn't have enough in devolpment to really connect with.

First off WOW! Talk about a hot story from page one. This a wonderful spanking romance that will you leave you running to bedroom asking for a spanking. I thoroughly enjoyed Safe In His Arms by Renee Rose. This is my fist time reading Renee Rose and I am glad I did.

Becca meets Zac at her sister's wedding. In a drunken slur she admits her yearning to be spanked. One hot steamy weekend winds up with her pregnant and news that Zac has died. Seven years later she has done her best to move on and give her son Parker the best life imaginable.

Parker is only six years old but knows his father exists. He knows many details about his father due to out of body experiences. He tries to convince his mom that his father is alive but Becca leaves it at a six year olds imagination.

Zac is a ghost. He doesn't exist and it's safest that way. He knows Becca is in danger so he goes to save her only to leave her confused. Can a ghost be with his family or will he always pop in and out?

Safe in his arms is an action packed story filled with emotion. You not only get a look into the character's emotion you also see Becca transform into the submissive she's always desired to be. I am so excited because I have another Renee Rose story lined up to read. I highly recommend this story to anyone who enjoys a good romance filled with spankings!

Becca has a thrilling weekend with a Marine, named Zac, that she meets at her sister's wedding. They have a great time and part ways. However, Becca is left with a lot more than just steamy memories. Nine months later she is raising a their child alone, as Becca believes that Zac has been killed in the line of duty.

Flash forward seven years later. Becca walks into apartment to find Zac fighting with their so-called nanny. Becca's world is turned upside down as she is thrown in a world of secret espionage.

Zac has been watching Becca and their son Parker from afar (only slightly creepy). He has secretly been providing for them throughout the years through various avenues; a great apartment that has unbelievably cheap rent, money found in the elevator, winning a car, etc. It was the only way he could provide financially for them without Becca becoming suspicious. He has stayed away to ensure their safety, until he realizes they are in danger and he must save them.

Now, one interesting turn in this book is that Zac has um....supernatural or psychic abilities. He intuition is always spot on and he has out of body experiences during times of extreme stress. It also seems that Parker has inherited some of his dad's supernatural mojo. At first I was intrigued how this would play out in the story, only to be let down in the end. It went nowhere. Zac has these abilities, only for them to fail fantastically when he needs them the most. Okay. So why even bother if it doesn't drive or add to the story? In my opinion, the whole psychic thing was a dead end that only detracted from the story.

The lemony scenes were....alright. Becca has a spanking fetish. Since she has no man to speak of, she surfs the internet and lives vicariously through spanking and submission websites/blogs. To feel sexually satisfied she takes matters into her own hands so to speak. How do we, as the reader, know this? Well not dead, psychic, creepy stalker Zac has placed some cameras in her apartment and monitors her "cummings" and goings frequently. That's just weird. The sex scenes were somewhat awkwardly placed. It almost read as the story was written and the sex scenes were added as an afterthought.

I really wanted to like this book, but it just didn't do it for me. I give it 2.5 stars.

Becca and Zac shared a passion-filled encounter where she indulged into some exploring of her sexuality. She discovered a few things about what turned her on and even came away with a bit of a souvenir out of the experience.

Zac never forgor the days spent with Becca. How she gave herself over to him and shared intimate moments and discoveries with him. Years after their encounter, his attraction to her is as powerful as it was back then.

This was an interesting story to get into. It drew me in from the start by having Becca and Zac meet and get together. It's not an overly original concept, but Renee Rose added some interesting concepts to it that nonetheless made it enjoyable to me.

I enjoyed Zac and Becca's chemistry and their interactions. It was great to see their initial connection growing into something more. The exploration of how their relationship would play out and how the author went about bringing these issues to the page were well written and added to the development of their connection. But mostly I enjoyed the few moments when they let their guards down and made themselves vulnerable to each other. Mostly, those were the moments that kept me engaged in the story.

My only complaint and the only reason this story didn't get a higher rating was the fact that the series of events behind the story were a bit far-fetched and over the top. I'm all for the hero saving the lady and all, but the mystery/suspense as it played out didn't hold my attention as much as I wanted it to.

All in all, a sexy, entertaining read with chemistry abound and some emotions thrown into the mix to make it a worthwhile read.

I received this title in exchange of my honest opinion.

A romance story, that has that BDSM twist on the side, is something that isn't that common right now. While I do enjoy some of the bdsm books out there now, I'm glad when I read one that isn't completely about that aspect of the couple's relationship. I enjoy the books where there is an actual 'storyline' to the book instead of just sex constantly. (Don't get me wrong I enjoy the sex books as well, but sometimes I just want more.)

With this story, there was a great story line that went along with everything else happening in the book. There was just the right balance between the bdsm and the relationship that was happening between Becca and Zac. Even with all the drama that was taking place in the book, you could still tell the feelings between them.

I think with his book I enjoyed Zac's character more than Becca. There was something about him that just made me smile whenever he was talking in the book. It could be because of everything that was going on, and he was still trying that shows what kind of man he was. Even when it came to risking his career, he was willing to do anything to keep Becca, and their son, safe.

All in all, I completely enjoyed this book to the point where halfway through it, I ended up calling a friend and demanding that she get this book! If you enjoy a romance with a side of BDSM this is the book for you!

I'm a little perplexed about this book, part of me loves it and part of me wanted it to be a teeny bit more developed. The banter between Zac and Becca was comical, loving, and steamy. The way Zac takes responsibility, once he is able, for Parker melted by heart. Then of course you have Zac struggling with himself and having to decide between his love for his family or his loyalty to his job. Sometimes I felt like every time Zac and Becca began to talk their lust got in the way, and I also felt that Becca should have resisted a bit more in the beginning.

However, one thing I love about authors is they almost never do things the way you would, and really who would want them to? Ms. Rose writes a great story about circumstances getting in the way of true love, and love triumphing it all in the end. I loved that this was not an all out suspense book, it had the erotic steam some of us love, and it had the comedic relief that we sometimes need. Once I got about a quarter of the way through I started to really get into Safe in His Arms. That first quarter just seemed a bit rushed. I will second the publisher's note above, there are some extremely steamy scenes that are not for the faint of heart, and as for the non-consensual spanking part... well I would say in the end it was consensual. It's one of those relationships where the "dominant" thinks/knows what the "submissive" needs, but Zac and Becca's whole relationship is not like that so don't let that scare you away. There is just as much romance as there is steam. If you like a lot of heat in your romance this book is the one to give it you. Safe in His Arms is avail be NOW! So, make sure to check it out!

Safe in His Arms Renee Rose Arc supplied by Netgalley. Loved

Safe in His Arms Renee Rose

    Arc supplied by Netgalley.

Loved the premise of this book, read and enjoyed the sample but sadly that was all I enjoyed. It quickly annoyed me the way Zac was such a top secret Black Ops agent and yet was able to do all the things he did without getting pulled for it, or caught out and everything just ran so smoothly for him. The story he first went with, and the way his death was faked I could go along with, but if I’d been Becca and discovered that being left pregnant and to raise Parker alone these past seven years, and all the hard work and heartache that engendered and then find out that Zac was alive and well, and had known about Parker – well her reaction was Very Very Different to what mine would have been. Supposedly a strong woman, who's gone through all that, raised Parker alone, qualified and working as an English teacher, and then she just rolls over and says “spank me” - well words to that effect.... Purlease...that's just not feasible. She should have been angry, screamed, shouted, asked him what the hell he thought he'd done...instead she turned into a wimp, living out her online fictional D/s life for a few days, and accepting crumbs from his table. As for that scene where she puts herself in danger just to get Zac to come to her – hell, she knows he's Black Ops now, does she just think he will drop everything??? Then Zac, can we really believe he learned all that from online tutorials? I know little about BDSM except from novels, but all I’ve read suggest hands on practice is the way to become an expert and safe for subs in what you do...
So, not a book for me, but as ever that's a personal view. Maybe you're prepared to suspend reality more than me for a good story, and will enjoy this, all I can say is I didn't :(
Stars: sadly just two, I didn't hate the book, but I didn't like it.
