"Much of the previous literature in the field of safety focuses on either the technical equipment issues or the human performance factors that contribute to the active failures in safety-critical systems. However, this book provides guidance in the moral or ethical aspects of decision-making that perpetuate many of the latent failures in safety-critical systems." Safety Ethics gives insight into ethical decision-making for all those interested or involved in safety-critical environments. The book will be an extremely valuable guide for professionals in making decisions consistent with their beliefs and code of ethics.

    Eye Opening

I am a frequent flyer and after reading this I am aware, for the first time, of the complex decisions, and the need for ethical decision making in aircraft maintenance. Also--I am dumbfounded by the insights into healthcare and patient safety--I had no idea of scope of safety problems in healthcare.

A must read book for healthcare administrators

Unmasks the unintended consequences of decisions regarding resources, etc. on patient safety. Edifying--highly recommend for continuing education programs for administrative and clinical professionals and for the initial education of upcoming professionals in these domains.
