Meet the Author
Cathie Robertson, who holds BS and MS degrees from San Diego State University, teaches courses in Child Development and Family Studies at Grossmont College near San Diego, California. She has taught child development, family studies, and food and nutrition courses, specializing in childhood nutrition, for many years. Robertson is the former president of the International Nanny Association, serves on several committees for issues that involve early childhood education, and has made numerous national, state, and local professional presentations. She has been the recipient of a number of grants, including one for a curriculum and resource guide for working with prenatally substance-exposed children and their families. In addition to teaching online, she currently volunteers in an elementary school and collaborates with several school districts on school garden and nutrition projects. Robertson is married, the mother of three adult children plus one elementary school-age child, and grandmother to ten.
