Sailor Boy Lace Panel Filet Crochet Pattern
Designed by Australian Mary Card in 1918, this tall thin panel features a sailor with his saber. This design has been arranged to correspond in size and style with the Soldier Boy, which is the subject of No. 1 of the Mary Card Giant Chart series. It is worked in plain filet-crochet, and is suitable for insertion in a cushion-cover, or other article of sufficient dimensions.

This is not your usual scanned vintage crochet pattern. To make this pattern great for today's crocheter I wrote complete instructions, expanded the written instructions so you won't need to skip around, and made an easy to follow chart. I also changed the written instructions to use modern US crochet terms.

The only stitches you need to know to complete this lace are: chain stitch and double crochet.
