Think you know and love Sailor Moon? The manga is a whole other experience. I always loved Naoko Tekeuchi's elegant style but the story is also much more to the point. Forget repetitive and silly youma, even knowing it would be more story I was surprised when by volume three we were already at Chibi-usa! Usagi is still cute (and has her childish moments) but matures a lot faster. Their identities are not fool proof--it is possible for those close who see them as Sailors to put two and two together. There is more backstory for the Moon Kingdom, and other interesting details when you get into the present & future. Usagi and mamo-chan's relationship develop with more depth and emotion (even before they remember their identities!). But especially Tuxedo Mask is far cooler in the manga. No thrown roses and speeches. He may not have sailor scout powers but he actually does have powers of his own.

In the end this is a beautiful box set to add to your collection (even including some cute stickers). Definitely worth getting both box sets together!
