This short but powerful book maps the life of a woman fully committed to motherhood and to divine Providence. Her strong will to live, for the family already entrusted to her, did not prevent her from granting new life (in a difficult pregnancy). She fully committed all to God's will although the outcome looked bleak. She trusted that God would provide for her family, including her new born, even if she didn't survive. Worldly wisdom denies the ultimate sacrifice that Christianity, after Christ's example, sometimes demands. Gianna is indeed the patron saint for women in difficult pregnancies. She chose life and the life born at her expense has been, and is, a gift from God. She illustrated the path of the cross, not the path of arbitrarily picking or choosing between life and death.

This book is by far the best, most comprehensive biography of St. Gianna that I have ever had the privilege to read! It encompasses not only her life, but also details the two miracles which were officially investigated and chosen in order to proclaim her a Saint. There are numerous photos as well. If you want to be inspired and uplifted... if you want to discover a new "heavenly friend" to pray for your family... this book is for you!
