PreS-K-These fun titles feature short, repetitive texts, simple themes, and strong picture clues. In the first book, Sally is a baby who smiles at the antics of the narrator, her older brother. The comical, somewhat exaggerated illustrations convey the joy in the relationship between the two siblings. In the second book, Larry gets filthy. Each page contains the names of each body part and the word sucio, or dirty. The cheerful, cartoon illustrations show the boy enjoying himself in all different kinds of muck, sand, and spilled food. This is especially fun for kids, as it subverts parents' attempts to keep them clean. Solid choices for libraries and bookstores.—Rebecca Thatcher Murcia, Akron PA Copyright 2003 Cahners Business Information.
