I'm hooked on Salmon, Desserts & Friends!

I had the good fortune to find LaDonna Gundersen's new cookbook earlier this fall. Salmon is a big part of our diet year round, so I am always looking for new ideas. I have been cooking from the recipes for several weeks, and this has quickly become my 'go-to' guide for salmon dishes. The straightforward recipes offer just enough zing to make the special. It's also a bonus that this is a beautiful and well-designed cookbook. Each recipe has a photo of the dish (a must-have, as far as I'm concerned). And the book is filled with Ole Gundersen's gorgeous Alaska photography. Get this cookbook, you'll love it!

    THEE BEST

I LOVE this cookbook. The recipes are so easy to follow and uses every day ingredients. I have used it multiple times and each time the recipe turns out perfect and is tasty. There is so much more then recipes in this cookbook.....it provides great information on the types of salmon, how to handle them, and what to use them for as well as info on stocking your pantry. Best of all it provides great photos of the dishes. This is the first cookbook I have ever read from cover to cover before cooking from it. It is a GREAT read and wonderful addition to anyone's kitchen!

    A+---- extremely well done!!

Salmon, Desserts & Friends is definitely not your average cookbook. Besides giving the reader a wide variety of scrumptious ways to prepare salmon dishes, it is also a book giving an accurate background on the lives of typical Alaskan fishermen, and how they make their livelihood in an often harsh, and always rugged environment. It is also a great story about a married couple who enjoy the benefit of being in love, and above all, enjoying their lives together in work and play. Ladonna's husband, Ole, has given an extra dimension through vivid, wonderful, photography of not only the great salmon dishes prepared in their galley, but also pictures throughout of stunning scenery, wildlife, boats, and men and women working in the commercial fishery of SE Alaska. This is a must for all kitchens and galleys.
